Waffle House — Restaurant in South Carolina

The worst place I've ever eaten! It was my second time in a waffle house, but first time at this location(07/26). We actually found 2 empty seats next to servers' fridge with drinks. The menus were on the table, so we set there. And set. And set. And waited for good 10-12 minutes just to be greeted! And it's not like they were busy. 2 waitresses kept walking by us without saying a word. During that time I asked my husband if he knew what he wanted, and he sarcastically said "i don't know if we going to get anything here at this pace".. Then one server said she'd be right back with us. In a few minutes she did came back with: "Doing alright today?". Didn't introduce herself, so I don't know what her name is. She wiped our table though (i guess they put menus on dirty tables). She took our drinks and food order. I had cheeseburger and double waffle and my husband had double burger. In a few minutes she literally dropped the burger in front of me with the words "Here you go". I kind of looked at the food and her as she walked away. My husband even commented on that :"what a presentation".We were expecting she'd bring the rest of the order as well. But we were wrong! Another 5 minutes go by, she bring the rest of the food with the same "Here you go", returns to get syrup, comes back with it and says "Doin' o'right?". Well, I guess so, it's been like 10 seconds since you dropped our food, do we still doing alright. Didn't check on us at all. I'm a server too, I know how you're supposed to treat you customers! And I don't know if it's a waffle house thing or only this waffle house, but they don't have BUTTER for the waffles. Our waffles came with Whipped Spread (water, canola oil and whatever other ingredient). I asked a different server for a butter, since ours never came back to check on us, and she told our server to grab butter, but the came back with the same whipped spread. I asked her if it's the only thing they have and she confirmed. I notice one gentlemen after he checked out at the register, came over to our waitress and hended her her tip, she didn't acknowledge him for good 15-20 seconds, which is a looooong time standing there with your arm stretched out to give your server a tip! And when we left my husband said "no good buy, no nothing". And by the time we left they were totally empty, it's not like they haven't notice that we were leaving, they just didn't care i guess. Me and my family came from tennessee for vacation. This waffle house is the absolute worse place I've ever been to. I give this place a ZERO. the food was horrible, atmosphere horrible and the service was the WORST!!! we walk in expecting to eat breakfast together as a family but we go inside they separate our family between 2 tables. 1 table on 1 side of the room and the other table completely across the room. We sat down at the tables they didn't give us a menu we seen some laying around so we grabbed them so we had to find our own menus. It took them 20 min to come get our drink order, then another 20 min after that before they came got our food order. So now that the cook is starting to cook our food , a few of the employees started arguing ( I thought they were gonna fight ) since the cook was arguing with the other employee he completely screwed up almost every meal we ordered but most of us ate it anyways. However my nephew (age 9) ordered a steak(well done) when he got it the steak still had blood dripping from it so I told the employees and they took my nephews plate (I thought to fix it) so when his food returns it's the same exact piece that he just had( I know this because of the way I cut it open to check it the first time so all he did was throw it back on the grill to cook it longer)(and I'm almost positive that's very unsanitary)but anyways when the steak comes back to the table I tried to cut it up into pieces so it was easier for him to eat and again there still blood dripping from it and it was IMPOSSIBLE to cut. My nephew couldn't even chew it. So we tell the employee that he can't chew it and ask for a replacement since they can't seem to get it right. The waitress came over there rolling her eyes had an attitude. She never checked on us to see if we needed anything to drink so as she was walking by my nephew asked her for a to go box and a refill on his drink.
