GameMasters Hobbies & Games — Local services in South Daytona

This is my new favorite place to spend free time in Daytona. GameMasters is a fun game shop that specialized in Magic the Gatheric, Malifaux, Dungeons & Dragons, and much more. The owner, Joel, is a friendly and personable guy. He offers a fairly wide selection of games you can test out in store for a low fee (if I'm remembering correctly it's $5 or $10 to play any/all of the games all day), plus a wide range of the above listed product lines. Oh yeah, and I run D&D games up there a couple nights a week. Also there's a boardgame group that meets there regularly. You could call GameMasters my second home and you wouldn't be far wrong. Joel is amazing! My son and I walked in to get a new Commander deck and some individual cards. We didn’t know much about Magic and weren’t exactly sure what we were looking for. Joel spent almost an hour helping us both customize our decks. He kept adding card after card. I was a little nervous at first. That whole sales experience of a salesperson saying “you need this and this” to bump up the sale. But that isn’t what happened. The cards were super cheap ($1 max and mostly 10-15 cents). I say all this because I think it’s important to commend Joel on his incredible passion. He wasn’t just trying to make a sale…you could see that he enjoyed helping and building the decks. Cozy place to come for card games, DND adventures, and, interestingly enough, board games. They have several game tables for miniatures, painting, and craft supplies for miniature painting. The miniatures include Star Wars, DND, Malifaux, Warlord, Dark Haven Legends, chronoscope, savage world, and a few more. However, they do not have Warhammer gear. Magic cards and assorted related products are available, and there were several people playing on a Saturday. Need dice or niche board games? They got ‘em.
