Potbelly — Restaurant in South Elgin

I picked the Potbelly’s on Randall Rd in South Elgin to meet a friend for lunch that I haven’t seen in a while. The experience turned into the worst dining experience ever. If I could give zero stars I would. Just as we arrived, a delivered person propped the back door open to make a delivery to the restaurant. This was at 11:45 am on Friday January 7, 2022 at which time the outside air temperature was 8 degrees and there was a strong west wind blowing in the door. Within minutes my legs, feet, and hands were numb. After enduring this for about 25 minutes, we had to leave. The door was never closed during that entire 25 minute period. Also, I saw the delivery person pass through the restaurant with no mask. He was the only person besides the people eating that was not wearing a mask. I will not return to...

I always come to this place at least 3-4 times in a month, always by 4-5 sandwiches, never get discount, even the worker of the shop told to manager I have to have discount because I am buying 4-5 subs manger like a guy not allowed to do it, today I bought regular chicken sub with mozzarella and lettuce tomatoes and ranch dressing he upcharged me for getting mozzarella cheese

I told him why he is charging extra he said for mozzarella he needs to upcharge me ,,,

I personally had 2 Quiznos never charge for cheese, only time it should be charged either extra cheese or they should tell us before making a subs that mozzarella will be extra non of them happened

I enjoy Potbelly. No matter where I go, it tastes the same. Until my experience at this location. My sandwich, cookies as well as the service was dry and stale. I hadn’t eaten all day and I was ready for it. I asked if the cookies were fresh and was told that they were so I left, ate my sandwich which was dry (ordered everything on it) but was too tired to drive back for a remake. Then I got to my cookies and they were old, dry and stale. I drove back tired. When the manager came out to issue my refund, instead of an apology I received an admonishment as if I was lying. I couldn’t believe it. Do better. I won’t ever go to this...
