Millie's Homemade Ice Cream — Restaurant in South Fayette Township

This is the worst experience I have ever had at a store in Pittsburgh.

We walked in at 8:48 pm on a Saturday, thinking it closed at 9:00 pm according to Google. When we asked the employee, who was busy mopping, if the store was closing soon, she grudgingly said it would close in 10 minutes. Then, when we asked if we could still place an order, she sighed loudly and reluctantly went back to the counter. Throughout the entire ordering process, she refused to answer our questions, not willing to look at us, and pretended not to understand English. It felt like she wanted us to leave the store as quickly as possible.

Luckily, we weren't the last customers to arrive before closing time. Another group came in, and the lady started sighing and shaking her head repeatedly. After we finished our ice cream, she threw the scoop into the sink loudly, embarrassing both us and the other customers. It was like she was saying we shouldn't have even bothered coming in before the official closing time.

Honestly, I would be completely okay if she had told us right from the start that we were too late and the counter was closed, so we could understand and leave. However, it's completely unacceptable that she agreed to take our order and then showed a bad attitude towards us.

The ice cream was special ice cream! I would probably steer clear of the chocolate brownie batter ice cream, even though the two super friendly ladies working there warned me it was very rich, I got it anyways and could hardly finish it. The only reason for the four-star review was that the ice cream leaks out of the bottom of the waffle cone very badly! The cones are obviously made from scratch, which is awesome, but leaking ice cream out of the bottom of a cone doesn't do anybody good. Ordered 3 milkshakes and they all tasted very good and everything was very clean inside. The reason for the 3 stars is the price, almost 30 dollars for 3 milkshakes is pretty crazy to me when the size of the cups are this small. I was basically done with mine by the time the second milkshake arrived. You can get a lot larger milkshakes at Sarris candy or even Burgatory for very similar prices and be so full you can’t finish them. This is no dig at the staff or cleanliness at all.
