We really enjoyed our first visit here, on a Saturday morning, for breakfast. Yes, the menu is limited, but we didn't mind, as we were there to enjoy a "little something" for our hunger, while enjoying the view. Think of this place more as a bar than a full restaurant. Plenty of seating with room to spare. Fresh. Clean. Options of low or high tables. The side near the airport is full of large windows with a great view of Mount Rainier and the air strip. Watch small planes land and take off in the back ground. So great! Outdoor decks without awnings looked inviting. Would love to be out there on a clear day--such a great, expansive view. Looks like they allow smoking on one side of the deck, and the food server said they have corn hole game nights there. The breakfast was good, and cooked to perfection. Two eggs, potato bites and toast for $8. Best wheat toast I have had in a restaurant--yes, toast! Loved the square red plate, the metal salt and pepper shakers and dark wood and veneer of the table set. The Bloody Mary was expertly crafted, with choice of flavored rim salt. Just add bacon garnish, Top Gun, and you have a five-star drink! There is a bar in back just for Pull Tab players, and boy, were they at it! Two golf simulation games and 3 dart games nearby. Bar shuffleboard game inside, and either a billiards table or something else outside. There was a board announcing specials. Looks like we will have to return for Taco Tuesday, with $5 double margaritas! There were several other specials listed, including a Halloween special. One star off for NO hand rails in the handicap stall in the women's bathroom!! (Top Gun management, please fix this!) Also, the servers need to be trained to deliver menus and water quickly after people seat themselves, even if you are short-staffed. (You will be paid in good tips for great service, I promise!) Lastly, Tog Gun management should be responding to these reviews, both poor and good ones. It's the norm now for best business practices. I have a feeling you will work out all of these kinks, being fairly new. You have great staff--cook, servers and bartender--all great. We will...
Read moreCame by for breakfast on a Sunday at about 1145 AM, I was in this establishment and noticed a male being served numerous drinks. This male was obviously celebrating a birthday as he had a “birthday boy” pin on his white hoodie and had a plastic goblet. The male was served numerous drinks, and was verbally encouraged to continue drinking by staff, who appeared to know him, as they were standing around his table for prolonged periods of time, including at least one female staff member drinking from his plastic “King” goblet (pretty sure employees shouldn’t be drinking alcohol at a WA licensed business), and another employee mixing drinks at his table, dramatically tipping the glass into his cup, as to signal he was making sure all of the alcohol got into the cup. The male patron became very loud and was yelling, obviously intoxicated and disturbing other people. An older customer, probably 80’s asked the male to quiet down and the male began berating the elderly gentleman, telling him things such as “you mother must have the cleanest windows because you licked them all day” and referring to him as disabled. The staff did nothing to stop him, nor cut off his service. This occurred at about 12:30. A short time later, the elderly male got up from his table, and having only way out, tried to passs behind the intoxicated male. The male stopped him by turning and purposefully elbowing the elderly male in the chest a couple of times. Again, staff, including a male with a goatee and a red Top Gun “security” shirt did nothing to interject, while watching that.
It appeared staff knew this patron and were fine with letting him do whatever he wanted (someone at the table may even work there, as he (wearing the Metcalf jersey) was given the remote to change the TV channel). I was very disappointed to see staff let him act this way to other people, while doing nothing about it. I won’t be returning.
The food was average, but the staff letting their apparent friends have their run of the place is major turn off from...
Read moreSo I was encouraged to visit this restraunt today. The client i had spoke highly of this reastraunt. We went in were greated by a guy. Who stated sir. If you buy a drink. We give discounts for first responders. Im like oh ok. I told him I don't drink alcohol. He said any drink. Im like ok. So we sit down. We end up getting a different server. So I say ok ill get an ice tea. She brings it. I get her attention I ask can I get some sweetner. She says ok. About 5 minutes go by. I see her I ask again can I please get some sweetner. She finally brings it. We order 2 BBQ burgers. She ask what sides would we like I say what do you have. She says a list of things. I ask free with the burger she says yes. So she said onion rings. I confirm she said onion rings she said yes. So I order. Food came perty fast. Food was excellent. Really good. We get the bill. No discount. Charged extra dollar for the onion rings. We left. Yes still left a tip. But I didn't ask for a discount they said I'd get one if I got a drink. I did. And no discount. Normally wouldn't say any thing but I thought it would be nice since I had a 90 year old client with me to get a discount. Nope. I tried leaving a review at the reastraunt but I guess they didn't like my review so they deleted me out of the 500 dollar drawing. And all I said was the service and being told to buy a drink would get a discount. But did say food was good. Sorry that happened to us but it did. My client probably won't return. Nor I. We drive by every other week. My client says the last owners were awsome and had pie and everything. She apologizedto me the whole way home. I told her. It wasn't her. She said she was...
