We tried out the new location in Deer Park tonight, fully aware that they just opened. We expected them to be busy and chaotic and prepared for the typical learning curve and mixup. Instead, there were only 2 tables occupied when we came in. We were rudely greeted by a server who was back by the kitchen who ordered us to "sit down and I'll be with you in a minute". I guess I expected some sort of welcoming reaction but it was clear that she didn't really have time for us. We sat, looked over the menu and enjoyed some chips and salsa. The salsa was delicious! I wished they had fountain drinks but they only serve cans or bottles, but offer glasses with ice so there was that... We ordered our food, an order of beef fajita street tacos and a beef fajita burrito. The food came up fast but our server didn't offer us the red or green sauces until we were already well into eating our meals. We tried both sauces and they were hot but not flavorful. I'm not sure what kind of meat they are using but it was definitely not flank or skirt steak. Probably chuck that was cooked till it fell apart then warmed on the flat top and had a mealy texture. My burrito was really greasy and I've never had greasy fajita. The food was a solid 4/10. We were never asked if we needed anything and the servers treated all the other customers the same way. By the time we finished, about 6 more tables had filled up and all were told to "sit down". We waited about 5 minutes after we finished eating as my husband chewed on ice because his drink was empty and he wasn't offered another one. Finally a different server came over to ask if we wanted anything else. We asked for the check. He had his card out when she came back with the check and she tried to take it from him without even letting him look at the total. He made her wait then gave her the card. She came back and stuck the bill and a pen in his face. He said "thank you" and she walked away without saying anything back. Overall, I'd say the service was rude enough that we won't be back. The food was just OK and I'd have probably gone back if a coworker invited me if it weren't for the servers who really didn't want to be bothered with customers. I'm already wondering what restaurant will be in...
Read moreAt first great service and friendly staff. A month or two later change of cashier(s) and I start getting salsa that is expired, 3 times already. I am not okay with this specially because the salsa is made in the kitchen NOT bought by a company, it can be considered a food product that can make you sick. The first time I called, they replaced my whole order and the second time I did not bother because i am now used to smelling their sauce before putting it on my food. This is the third time and that's why i am making this review. I specifically told the person who took my order over the phone to PLEASE MAKE SURE I DO NOT GET EXPIRED SALSA and I did receive expired salsa that smells HORRIBLE. I feel bad for this review because I am assuming that's the cashiers job who never seems to give me my order correct anymore. The food is great, just need to change cashiers and who ever manages...
Read moreOnly giving two stars because the customer service was decent; the girls working the counter were friendly (not overly friendly but weren't aloof either which is the ideal in customer service for my taste) and checked on me to see if I needed anything else; saying that, I ordered 3 tacos de trompo- the tacos were flavorless!!! I also requested a tomato and lettuce substitution for my tacos instead of the cilantro and onions (which i don't like) they failed to inform me that they would charge $.25 cents per taco for the substitution!! REALLY you are charging for substitutions, the only taqueria I have EVER been charged to substitute tomato and lettuce - I could get over it but the fact that they didn't even mention they would charge is what gets to me. Given how flavorless the food was I will probably not...
