Trying this place for the first time and makes me not want to try new places ever again! The food was mediocre and flavorless except for the refried beans and breaded fish filet, you’d swear they finished all the salt making those 2 dishes and then didn’t have a pinch of salt left for any of the other dishes. I asked for a margarita and they only had them in the rocks, it was the worst one I have ever had. I returned it after the first sip, tasted watered down and no margarita flavor at all! All I wanted was a nice dinner with my family after a long day at work, but I left feeling grossed out and angry. I asked the waitress for the check and also asked if I could get my plate of which I only ate the 3 shrimp which were hard and rubbery, she said she would ask. The manager of the place apparently said no and decided to not even come and ask what the problem was. I told him that at least half of the plate I didn’t even eat should be discounted, but we would pay for the rest because my kids had eaten some of it. He proceeded to argue that the restaurant couldn’t loose money because I didn’t like my food to which I said “I didn’t even eat my food!” He was extremely rude and honestly this is the worst place I have ever casted for Mexican food. We will not be going back and I caution everyone to go at your own risk. They don’t care about the quality of food and the manager is someone who should not be in the...
Read moreMy experience at this Mexican restaurant was satisfactory, considering my modest expectations. I didn't anticipate a gourmet feast, and indeed, it delivered an average dining experience. The prices were reasonable, aligning with the quality of the food served.
I tried two full loaded burritos, one with beef fajita and the other with pastor meat. Of the two, the pastor meat stood out with its flavorful taste. While the service was acceptable, the highlight was the selection of refreshing aguas frescas available.
I appreciate the affordability of this establishment, making it a viable option for a quick, casual meal with a friend. However, it's worth noting that this isn't the place for a special occasion or a celebratory dinner. It's a small, no-frills Mexican restaurant that caters more to everyday dining needs.
In reading other reviews, I found some expectations to be unrealistic. This is not a high-end, five-star dining establishment where patrons spend hundreds of dollars per meal. It serves its purpose as a budget-friendly spot for a laid-back meal, and in that regard,...
Read moreThis is honestly my all time favorite taqueria, and growing up in Pasadena I frequented a LOT of them. I moved out of Pasadena 4 years ago, but I still make the drive back a couple times a month just to eat here. The fajita tacos are always great, they're fairly priced, the red sauce is so good(especially when served warm), the queso is !FREE! (past I believe 5 PM) and the wait staff are always prompt and I don't think any of them have ever messed up an order. I've been to many restaurants where your bowl of chips or drink will sit empty for 5 to 10 minutes waiting for someone to refill them, but that never happens here.
The only downside to being a taqueria that everyone knows is amazing is that sometimes, during dinner time, saturday lunch times or just after church times on Sundays, you'll drive up and there's not a parking spot in sight. Just hang out until someone leaves or park across the street,...
