This delicious ice cream is nestled in between lovely trees, currently within the Round Hill Square parking lot. My wife was craving some ice cream and after a quick search, found this gem that has only been opened for a few weeks, with great reviews/ratings. We had to try it. We arrive about 30 minutes before they closed and order two mini scoops BlackBerry Crumble and Hank the Tank Trap and a regular scoop of Bourbon Peach Pie. It was to die for! The lady and gentleman (sorry I forgot to ask for your name) were extremely friendly and shared that they made their ice cream from scratch. You can taste this is truly authentic ice cream that didnât melt fast in 80+ degrees weather. We ate it in the truck of our SUV with our 2 year old son and smashed it in seconds! Highly recommend and as they continue to be part of South Tahoeâs treasure, I look forward to seeing seats for patrons stopping by. By the way, as we were leaving with 10 minutes before they closed, for one, they didnât pack up early, as 4-5 cars packed with people rolled right up to them. Youâre missing out if you...
Read moreWe were on vacation from the Bay Area and saw this place pop up on some searches. The reviews were all fantastic so we had to find out for ourselves. It was a quiet and cool Thursday evening, but we were ready to dive in.
With so many options it was hard to settle on the order, but ended up with a double scoop cone of Caramel Apple Crisp and Salted Caramel White Russian. The first bite of the Caramel Apple Crisp was divine. Bits of apple crumble were a delight in every bite. The Salted Caramel White Russian was sublime in its silky smooth texture and flavor. A great combo.
My partner had the non-dairy Black Sesame Ginger Fig and Honey Vanilla Glow. The Black Sesame was one of the most unique and delicious bites of ice cream I ever had and the vanilla glow paired perfectly with its luscious creaminess.
There were so many other interesting options we ended taking home a 4 mini scoop sample which we are yet to get into. With that sitting in the freezer, we may just settle for a singe scoop...
Read moreWow. So you think you've had ice cream and that there is some kind of ceiling on the quality and excellence of ice cream. You may even think you found that ceiling. But you probably haven't. This Castle Rock ice cream, is ice cream. I think of the excellent ice cream here, in the frame of Plato's Republic. That's where Plato describes the Allegory of the Cave. You may recall: We, the people of Earth, are perceiving our reality through shadows cast on the wall of a cave. These are generally distorted versions of things. It's only when one leaves the cave to see actual objects under the Sun, that we are free to discern true reality. The philosopher or scientist is the person who leaves the cave and sees this. But we can all leave the cave. It is done by enjoying Castle Rock Creamery Ice Cream. It is the true ice cream-- Not the shadows on the walls of the cave, that...
