Los Portales Jaliscos — Restaurant in South Lake Tahoe

They where out of at least ten diff things including meat choices, avocado among other things, the rice was white rice not seasoned. They had no fans and it was at least 90f inside. The one person in our party that is allergic to avocado had it in her burger. They refused to give it to anyone els which prompted a hospital visit. The salsa was kept at 40+f which is where bacteria grows. They took only cash which seemed very suspicious. The quality of the food was sub par. Burritos had French fries the chips tasted burned / dry ( but it's ok because they only give u about 6 or 7 per basket. I guess what do you expect for a hole in the wall. Hope the irs / health safety board...

Jalisco Grill has worst Mexican food and service I’ve had in the last 5 years. Carmen, the hostest waitress, is terrible, rude and beyond unpleasant. The restaurant is very dirty. They had no tamales left at 6:30 pm. Pollo Taco was extremely dry and uneatable by me or others. Chips were terrible. Salsa was worse. You basically serve yourself here. Luke warm water with no ice was just terrible tasting. Had to order a Pepsi to get ice. Not even half way done and my ice is gone. Food is very average. Costco frozen Mexican food is better. The portions are very small on a teeny-tiny plate. Just run away from this...

I really am sad to write this review. We have eaten here twice before during our vacation in Tahoe and each time was great, no complaints. I don't know what happened between then and now, but it definitely was not the same quality of food . My husband and I both ordered the fajitas. My chicken was dry and tasteless and his Carne asada was tough. Also, they had squash mixed with in our veggies, I have never been served zucchini with a fajita order before. They gave us dry flour tortillas even though we ordered corn. I really hope it was just an off day for them, but it is a little too pricey for us to take the risk...
