Margaritas Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in South Lake Tahoe

There is gluten free options here but the quality of food was not the greatest & service was extremely slow. Visited on a Saturday late morning when the place wasn't busy. The dinning room wasnt even half filled but we waited more than 10 minutes upon entry before we were even greeted and asked if we've been helped. The funny thing was that we could see the bartender and we could see one server walking loops through the dinning area and passing us multiple times to walk in and out of the kitchen with nothing in his hands, we also know they saw us bc there was eye contact but neither greeted us as if they didn't care to have any more patrons or just that they didn't care (maybe bc we weren't going to be their next table)? Finally someone with a kitchen apron who clearly does not work at the host stand noticed us and asked if we had been helped, then seated us when he couldn't find the hostess. Our server was pleasant and energetic, but it took more than 30 minutes before our food finally came out, then the food wasn't even that good (same for the non-gf plate)...overall not a positive experience. Sux the servers here don't work together to make the dinning experience more enjoyable for everyone--everyone could benefit...

Margaritas seems like yet another solid local spot on 89. A bit out of the crowded South Lake Tahoe area — just how we like it. We’re visiting South Lake in a shoulder season so we walked right in at 1pm on a Saturday and we’re seated immediately. The place itself is nothing to write home about, it’s clean enough and has a bit of a ‘Tahoe’ vibe, but almost nothing about it would indicate that it’s a Mexican restaurant.

The bartender was friendly and attentive, bringing chips and salsa right when we were seated. She promptly got our drinks and orders. Service was great. My group and I ordered a couple of combination plates and a steak quesadilla. I thought the shredded beef was pretty good but got mediocre reviews for the chicken and steak fillings.

This was our second time here so it’s definitely worth a trip, and solid food and atmosphere to return. It did seem like multiple people in there at the time of our visited had come often. Overall, the experience is good and solid food. Nothing to write home about and nothing to...

Food is ok, and that's why we came back a few times.. the service has never been great but good for Tahoe (local know what I mean).. however, today was terrible.. we got to the restaurant around 5pm and we were not greeted for a while, once someone finally came out of the back to seat us, well actually just said seat yourself:. So we waited for a while and finally got a waiter, I ordered the vegetarian burrito and some coffee, my partner had some questions about the crab meat used in another dish.. a little later a different waiter came and took his order. 30 mins later they brought his food, but not mine.. so the first waiter never put in my order. Now mistakes happen but when I brought this one to our waiter's attention she literally told me it was my fault.. also went without water and coffee, there were a lot of staff and they were all having a good time chatting and talking amongst themselves.
