I went to this McDonald's tonight and ordered dinner for my family. I went through the Drive-through and there was no one else there. No greeting at the speaker for about 2 or three minutes. Then abruptly heard what can o get for you. No other greeting. I placed my order but couldnt get ice cream because the machine was broke but this happens a lot at this location so that's fine I still wanted my food. Was told to pull up to first window and I did. Sat there with no one coming up to me for about 5-10 mins. Then in front of me I saw a guy waving a broom stick out the window which I guess ment pull forward. The employee then took my card without saying anything and shoved my food bag at me. Then gave me back my card and said bye. This was upsetting so I went inside to talk to a manager about this interaction and this is where it went even worse. Instead of appaulogizing as one would normally do this "manager" John said well we are busy. I asked him if that is ok to treat customers like that when you are busy and he said yes when we are running around like this. I was in shock and now more then a little frustrated and asked what his name was. He said John and ask for his last name which he wouldn't give. Granted I should have known that and then I asked for the store number so I can make a complaint. He said he didn't know what the store number is. As a manager and even most employees know what their store number is. I told him I am going to call corporate and he scuffed at me "they wont answer. He then got lippy with me we waved his hands at me said kept repeating bye. I left called corporate and they answered right away. This was the worst experience I have ever had at a McDonald's. I have had bad food before and that is somewhat excusable but treating customers poorly is never. I am a Tahoe local and there is better...
Read moreIt's McDonald's. What more can you say? This place was VERY busy during lunch time! Probably because local restaurants are even more pricey. It was almost $16.00 for 2 quarter pounder meals.
They have the order kiosks in here. Yet several employees running around helping everyone use the kiosks. Almost not worth having the kiosks, lol.
You can also order your food using an app on your phone. Might be faster than using the kiosk, or the drive through.
If you use a credit card, you pay at the kiosk; if you pay cash, you pay at the counter when you pick up your food.
Just so happened my receipt didn't print, but I remembered the order number. An employee tried helping in vain. He finally called the manager over who was unable to retrieve my order, either. So much for technology! Gah!
The system was extremely overloaded with orders - took about 25 minutes before my order number finally popped up. Any other restaurant would have comped or discounted my order. So taking a star away for the kiosk fiasco. As it was about 30-35 min to get lunch. Several other people ordered, picked up lunch, and left while I was still dealing with the kiosk malfunction. Very frustrating!
I should mention the restroom was clean in spite of heavy usage. They use the hand blow dryers, (only one was working) instead of paper towels. The blowers have been shown to speed more germs than paper towels, so Inwish they would have...
