Asian Cafe — Restaurant in South Middleton Township

I ordered a lunch special and the lady on the phone was very nice not like some of the other reviews stated. They told me 45 minutes and it did arrive in time which was good. Food was delivered hot and the driver was very nice. There was a massive amount of food for a $6 lunch special. I ordered my food extra spicy not knowing what to expect since I had never ordered from here before. Overall my food was very bland and there was no spice whatsoever. I was surprised that the fried rice that came with the lunch was nothing more then white rice fried in a lot of Grease. No vegetables in it? No little bits of scrambled eggs? And again no flavor in the rice. I do realize different restaurants have different recipes but my beef and vegetables only had onions and peppers and carrots in it - no mushrooms, no broccoli, or other goodies. Basically I had beef, a few strips of vegetables mentioned before, in a ton of rice. It wasn't terrible but it was nothing to write home about. Also it comes in a styrofoam container which you could tell the dividers started to melt a little from the food being hot. I avoided eating those areas as I did not want to ingest melted styrofoam. Overall I did end up very full and at a very fair price so for that I give it three stars. Oh and no fortune cookie? I wish they would actually open up the restaurant for dine in purposes again. When you walk into the restaurant it looks like a military fortress of paneled plastic put together with super glue. When COVID hit they constructed it, and they still have not taken it down. They only allow takeout now. The food is good, but walking inside makes you feel very unwelcome, the exact opposite of welcoming environment. I would love to give this restaurant a good review, but I feel as though they are keeping the inside closed to customers due to laziness. You’d think that leprosy is still spreading around due to the heavily fortified kitchen and window we have to speak through to order food.

If anyone from the restaurant is reading this, PLEASE open the restaurant back up for service. Covid is over.

Some of the reviews about this Restaurant said this was the Best Chinese Food in the Carlisle area, so I decided to try it for lunch. I ordered General Tso's Chicken, and the meat was HORRIBLE. I couldn't even chew the meat, as it just became stringy pieces of whatever as I chewed, and chewed, and chewed. I had to say it was the WORST Chinese food I ever ate in my life !!!!. Following my attempt to eat the food, I called them up to complain, and I was told that If I didn't like the food, then don't come back. I happened to mention this experience to someone I work with, and they told me they also had a bad experience when they placed an order.
