I come here every week, I love their food. I moved out of utah for about a year and missed it every day, so I’m very glad to be back now. This is a great place and I recognize all the staff members. Inside seems pretty clean as well, though I typically get to-go. Their sweet pork, beef, and chicken are all super good. They have very kind staff who have never been rude to me, especially the very friendly manager red-head man!
Beef Enchiladas: 10/10. I love this restaurant and I have for years. I believe that this will forever be my favorite thing from them, forever. This is so delicious. Beef, red sauce, cheese, black beans—literal perfection. Paired with sour cream/Greek yogurt, nothing can ever beat this. It’s juicy and hot with the perfect kick from the red enchilada sauce, and the shredded beef mixes perfectly with it.
Chicken Enchiladas: 10/10. Just like the beef enchiladas, this is so good too. I eat it the same, but only the protein is different. It’s divine, truly, and so good and filling. Literally my comfort food for the rest of time. I dream of this dish. There is something magical about it with sour cream (or in my case, Greek yogurt), I promise. It’s just as juicy as the beef enchiladas. The chicken smothered in the melted cheese and red hot sauce is so flavorful and tender.
Chicken Taco with Corn Tortilla: 9/10. It was good! I put Greek yogurt and some guacamole on it upon getting home. It made it taste even better, and it was filling. The cheese at the bottom was satisfying with the lettuce and chicken, and with the black beans, it was a solid taco. The corn tortilla was also great and tasted like a totally normal tortilla, no weird smell or anything. Filling and satisfying.
Sweet Pork Nachos: 10/10. I always eat too much. With the queso? My god, my arteries should be gone by now. This is delicious. The toasted chips are so good with the warm and juicy sweet pork, not to mention the melted cheese and hot black beans that seep through the pile.
Chips & Salsa Fresca: 9/10. Not too exciting of a dish, but still delicious. Very good. It’s essentially just the pico de gallo but blended. It tastes fresh and has a slight kick to it, while also remaining mild and cool.
Chips & Guacamole: 10/10. I love their guacamole, I wish I had a whole tub of it. It’s simple but amazing.
Chips & Pico de Gallo: 5/10. It’s alright. The rating is only low because I’m not a pico de gallo person, but I’m sure someone who likes it would be able to appreciate this dip a lot...
Read moreThis use to be “The Spot”! Family and my friends use to love going to this location. Somewhere along the road the customer service has plummeted. We figured the first few times the staff was having an off or bad day so we would share a joke or two to try and cheer them up. But after recent visits it’s clear they are a very unenthusiastic staff. The quality of service isn’t this other thing to suffer. The food has lessened in quality as well. Beans, meats, “fresh tortillas”.. all dry and old. Myself and my friend didn’t even want to finish our meals. We took our food back to the counter to be met by the young staff gossiping in front of us and another studying a book. Took the gentlemen and lady a good minute or two to complete their stories and I’m assuming homework before attending to us. They remade our meals which was awesome but again Same beans, meat, lettuce.. quality was poor.
This review is written with hope that things change in the future. We don’t plan to return anytime soon unfortunately but maybe...
Read moreLong time customer at many locations but I bounce between this and the Riverdale one (I forget this one is closer so I need to go to this location more often).
As far as the company I like that they continue to do new things - I wish every single restaurant like theirs would have an online calculator (mobile friendly too) that tells me calories and macros. When I see that it's about 200 calories to add cheese, I skip it. I might double up on beans or meat to add protein. I LOVE that they have guac. For the reasons that it's fast and I can eat as healthy as I want to go - I will keep coming back.
Sure there are some employees who are slow or whatever but this is a casual place and overall I've had consistently good experiences. Also, if you do have the extra calories to spend they do have the best key lime pie and desserts. One of the few places that they're homemade.
I love these Utah chains because they're great alternatives to fast food places. Now if they could just add a Playland and I'd eat there...
