I went by Sonny’s today to get a bagel which I love their salt bagels and the young ladies there need more customer service training. They don’t speak when you enter the store. I was waiting in front of the register to pick up my bagel and the cashier never acknowledged me, she proceeded to service the customer behind me. I ask if we’re invisible and she said no, but never asked what I needed. Another young lady came over and I gave her my name. Now, I was excited for my bagel but I looked in the bag and my bagel was not how I order it. I took it back into the store, upon entering no one acknowledged me. They did look at me but never acknowledged my existence. I said excuse me to one young lady and proceeded to tell her my issue with the order, she said ok, and called someone else to help me. Granted she was making orders. After my order was remade I was standing in front of the counter awaiting to give a tip to the young lady who so graciously help me, another worker proceeded to serve a customer behind me passing his food around me. Maybe it was a rough day for the store but I will take my money elsewhere. Manage may need to address customer service issues with a few of the front...
Read moreWell, this ain't your morhers Sonny's bagels. I live in Atlanta now, but born and raised in jersey. Every time I come back I always head to Sonny's for a solid bagels. Went the last year and found out there was a new owner. Had a brief conversation with him and seemed like a nice guy. Bagels were good, as always. Now a year later back in town, and my nephew goes and gets a bag of Sonny's Bagels. Now I'm excited and looking forward to a Sonny's bagel! Well to my surprise they sucked. Big as a sandwich roll, old ones were small, no taste, no soul. Obviously, the new owner changed the formula and it sucks! Won't be going back and neither will my family. To all the original Sonny Bagel purist, don't waste ur time and money,...
Read moreI worked at Sonny Bagels 40 + years ago. It was my very first part-time job in H.S. While in N.J. I popped in to show my daughter where I worked in the 70's and get a familiar taste of home! I was pleased to discover that so much about South Orange Village had changed but the one thing that remained consistent was the delicious Sonny's bagel!! It was just as I had remembered. It had a great crust and a perfectly fluffy texture inside ( not doughy.) I had the pleasure of meeting, Jason Miller, the new owner who was extremely congenial to my daughter and I! I will definitely return to take that familar taste of home back to the South with us! Wishing you lots of success Jason. It was a pleasure meeting and reminising with...
