Since my google reviews always seem to be a hit, let me tell you all about Angelina's Tavern located in my hometown, South Plainfield. I own a nonprofit 501c3- The Regina Strong Foundation in memory of my late best friend, Regina Miller, also from town. In addition to my annual 5K Walk/Run, held every September, I decided to do a luncheon "add-on" for those who were looking to eat and drink after the 5K ended. My goal was to make it close and convenient for registrants and this establishment is right next door to Spring Lake Park. They were very accommodating from the start as when I went to pay a deposit, I met the owner's beautiful sister, Rita while organizing this through Leah by way of another staff member, Kristy. They understood the mission of being a 501c3 for a good cause (breast cancer) and offered to help me in any way. They were all very pleasant to my guests and refilled the food accordingly (just under 50 who were able to make the 2nd part of the event at Angelina's- September is a BUSY month). My goal was also to expose this restaurant to a whole new client base and met the owner himself, letting him know that if all worked out today, he would have a permanent client on the day of this annual event. So many people in this town that had never been there and now they are aware and will be back. The amount of people who bought drinks and additional food was endless as well. The bar was packed throughout the entire event, and after. Again, thank you to the owner Giovanni, sister Rita, cousin Roberto, staff Leah and April and all of the other staff behind the scenes. Much appreciated! You now have a...
Read moreFinally we got together to try this place. The parking lot is huge - it is not by the gas station but in the back of the restaurant. There are multiple entrances, one for the bar, and one for the restaurant. We were seated in the dining area. The service was quick. We got octopus and meatballs as appetizers. I loved the octopus. The sauce in the dish tasted so perfect. We got complimentary salad for the entrees we ordered, and the balsamic vinegar tasted great - not syrupy at all. I had the angel hair with lobster and shrimp in garlic oil ($35). Every ingredient tasted fresh, and the sauce again was so delicious. My husband had fettuccini carbonara ($16) with added chicken ($5), and he was very happy about the fact that the carbonara was not salty. With the bacon bits, his paste tasted perfectly balanced. Our friend ordered the eggplant parmigiana with Penny Vodka ($18). He packed almost the whole dish home after trying very hard to finish, and he said he felt extremely full. We loved the complimentary bread - they were essentials to the dishes! For the quality and quantity, I am very impressed by their affordable price. We will come back again - we wanted to try their...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My wife and I love this place. It’s our go-to spot, no question. As an executive chef, I’m super picky about where I eat out, and I don’t say this lightly: the food here is absolutely amazing.
Everything on the menu is legit. You can’t go wrong, whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or sitting down for a full dinner. The flavors are always spot on, portions are generous, and you can tell they put real heart into everything they serve. I’ve tried almost the whole menu at this point, and every dish has been a hit.
One thing I really appreciate is how they handle special requests. I’ve thrown a few at them over time, and they always deliver; like above and beyond. Whatever they come up with is out-of-this-world.
And the service? Top-notch. The whole staff is super friendly and always on the ball, even when the place is packed. You never feel like you’re waiting around or being forgotten. They genuinely care about giving you a great experience.
It’s a family-owned spot, and you can feel that from the second you walk in. Just a warm, welcoming vibe all around. If you haven’t checked it out yet, you’re seriously missing out. Go...you’ll be...
