Jagdish Farshan — Restaurant in South Plainfield

We ordered food from Jagdish Farsan in Jersey City. The order was to arrive by 3:05 but arrived at 3:30 PM. The food was cold. By cold, you could tell they got it out of the freezer and didn't even care to heat it before the delivery. Do not order from here.

We ordered the following:

Sev Khamani: completely avoidable. Very dry.

Khaman: They were chilled. Extremely surprising as that goes to show they are stale. Also, very hard.

Lilvaani Kachori: one of the few things that we liked. Not too sweet. Medium sized.

Khandvi: again, extremely cold and super oily. We literally felt as if the food provided is taken pit of the freezer.

Frankie: probably the best of our order. Nice and tasty. Full of veggies. Must try If you order from here.

Paneer 65: if you think this is a regular Indo Chinese delicacy, you will be surprised. They literally added tons of mustard seeds and curry leaves. Do not order.

Triple Schezwan Rice: Most people serve this with noodles. This place doesn't. Plain simple rice with a lot of red chili sauce, onions, green pepper, green onions and pepper

Manchurian Fried rice: better than the Triple Schezwan. Not overdone with spices unlike Triple Schezwan. Manchurian balls are very few and small.

Gajar No Halwo: not at all fresh! Tons of added food colour. Extremely dry....

Very badly managed. The person at the counter( Hema) was very disorganized. She took our order then proceeded to fulfill the order of about 10 people after us. Did not fill our order ( dhokla, Patra and sev khamni) even after reminding twice. Told us they were not serving sev usal and then served it to several other patrons. Finally after 40 minutes and reminding 3 times, 2/3 things on our order were prepared( only after my husband stood at the counter to make sure it was made!!) we finally had to pack the third item( again had to stand at counter) When I complained she said sorry, she forgot to put order in and did not check with the kitchen what they were making. She did not comp us our order or even fast track it once she realized she had messed up. Finally when we checked the farshan ( just 2 items) we had ordered, only one was in the bag given to us. More waiting ensued till the other item ( already paid for was added) If I didn’t love their bakarvadi, would...

I used their catering service for my son’s wedding in Miami on June 23,24-2023. I would proudly use them and recommend to my friends and family l. The food test was testy l,the presentation and service were excellent. Mr. Luv and his colleagues are very polite, professional and knowledgeable. We use them for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I had over 250 guests came to me and asked who is the caterer because the food test they have not eat like this in a long time. I have three weddings scheduled this year and they all said they will use them. Mr.Luv, Mr. Nareshbhai, Miss. Drashtiben and Jagdish Farsan staff on behalf of my families, friends and myself would like to thank for making my son’s wedding very special by serving very very very testy food and timely service.
