
DO READ* I usually never write reviews but this place deserves it. Cancelled my membership here. The manager at this place Dom or Tom whatever his name is bald white guy is the rudest and most arrogant person I've ever seen. Last week the weather was warm so I was riding my motorcycle to the gym. Since their lockers are not big enough to fit a helmet I asked him if it was okay to leave the helmet with them at the front desk and his words were if you are going to bring your motorcycle here everyday I'm not going to hold your helmet for you, if you bring it occasionally that's fine, we are not here to cater you. I told him if the lockers would fit a helmet I wouldn't have asked you to keep it here and he says go find a solution, maybe you could just keep it in the locker room somewhere. My question is what if a person doesn't have car and only has a motorcycle? What if someone steals the helmet if I leave it outside? Are you going to buy me a new helmet? Next I told him it's not my fault your lockers don't fit a helmet so you give me a solution and he goes don't bring your motorcycle here. I told him maybe I'll have to cancel my membership then and he goes okay that's fine if you want to cancel your membership over this. Wow Great customer service there buddy. Then I told him okay I'll talk to the owner of this gym and I went to the locker room. NOW ALL OF THIS WASN'T ENOUGH FOR HIM. HERE COMES MORE NOW THIS GUY WHO IS THE MANAGER OF THE GYM. LOL MANAGER???? FOR REAL??? HE COMES INTO THE LOCKER ROOM WHILE I WAS GETTING READY TO GO HIT THE WEIGHT AND THREATENS ME SAYING HEY MAN IF YOU WANT TO MEET OUTSIDE WE CAN DO IT. I TOLD HIM LOOK I'M NOT HERE TO FIGHT ANYBODY AND HE SAYS NO WE HAVE A PROBLEM NOW. YOU WANT TO TAKE THIS OUTSIDE. I WAS LIKE NOPE I DON'T WANT TO FIGHT. AND THEN I TOLD HIM WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO BE A DICK FOR A HELMET AND HE ALMOST CAME CLOSE TO HIT ME THERE AND SAYS YOU BETTER WATCH OUT NOW. ALL THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE COMPLETELY NO MATTER WHAT. NO APOLOGIES AFTER ALL THIS EITHER FROM HIM. I DON'T KNOW WHAT WAS HE SO MAD ABOUT. I DON'T KNOW IF HE HATES MOTORCYCLES OR IF HE'S A RACIST OR HE DOESN'T LIKE HIS JOB AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. ANYWAY NEVER GOING BACK TO THAT GYM AGAIN. NOT ONLY DID I FEEL INSULTED BUT WAS ALSO THREATENED. NOT PAYING MY HARD-EARNED MONEY FOR THAT KIND OF A CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ALL THE BS. THREATENING YOUR CUSTOMER TAKES IT TO WHOLE DIFFERENT LEVEL OF POOR...
Read moreI joined here about 6 months ago (after belonging to a smaller gym right down the road) and this was the best decision I ever made. Besides the fact that it's only $23/month (after taxes) this place has great hours (5am-11pm weekdays and 7am-7pm weekends), a TON of free weights, machines, and cardio equipment (all with personal TVs) and a cardio theater if you want to watch the "movie of the day" on a big screen. I'm an early morning gym goer so there is never an issue with it being too crowded. The few times I have gone on the weekends, I noticed it does get really crowded, but I think all gyms are going to be like that.
The only negative (and I don't blame Retro for this) is that there is some type of odor that hits you in the face as soon as you walk in. I think the building used to be some kind of factory before Retro took over the space. I don't know exactly what was made there, but whatever it was it has seeped into the walls and can't go away. After a few minutes though, I don't even notice it. None the less, it's not a deal breaker for me because everything else about the facility is great. But you will notice it the first time you walk in.

Read moreI think i missed the part of the contract where the staff can touch you and get in your face in the middle of the gym? My friend helps me workout as he’s more experienced and I’m a beginner and i was told we are no longer allowed to despite no where in the contract saying we can’t. We respectfully left when asked yet the short blonde moody Judy thought it was appropriate to grab and get in my friends face and start screaming. I had to step in between to get her to back off which should never ever be the way to resolve the issue. We didn’t put our hands on her so why is she putting her hands on us. Not sure where she learned her customer service skills as the professional approach would have been to let us leave as we were already doing and anything that needs to be discussed can be done at the front desk instead of disrupting everyone’s workout and making Retro look like a joke. Happy to say i cancelled my membership and will not return.
