Iâm pretty bummed out that I had to pay for my birthday dinner full price when the deal wasnât explained clearly. We had 3 adults, 2 kids in our party. My friend and her husband split a meal ($50 meal, equivalent to 2 individual meals) and split it. I ordered a meal. The kids munched off of us, because they donât eat much. I chose fusion specifically after my server my last visit informed me of the birthday deal using the verbiage of âparties of 3-5 you get 50% off your one birthday meal.â Online it says the same thing. Parties of, it does not state you have to purchase 3 individual meals even though we all ate. I informed the server that it was my birthday, I felt like she should have informed me that we needed to order 3 individual meals even though our check was still almost $110. My friend said after the fact that she wouldâve just ordered her own individual meal even though the price wouldâve been the same. The kids ordered drinks, and 2 adults drinks as well. So thereâs no reason it shouldnât have been honored. You need to specify this in the future to prevent disappointment on someoneâs birthday, especially a solo mom with her 2 children. Oh, then to top it off, when I called to try to bring this up with a manager, the person over the phone said there was no manager on the clock and offered no solutions besides...
Read moreWhile the atmosphere was good, I must say I was very disappointed in the food. Iâm not a fan of teriyaki and the chef covered EVERYTHING in teriyaki sauce. Every chef ive had had always ASKED if we wanted teriyaki on the food. This guy just covered it all, and then belittled me when I told him I wanted my food without it. Though he meant it in a joking way, it was still unappreciated. Iâm paying him to cook my meal the way I like it. Not how he wants to cook it. The rice was boring. The shrimp was way over cooked and TOUGH. I received much less food than I get at other hibachi restaurants. My husband had to sit and wait for his food while everyone had already got their meals because the kitchen shorted the amount of shrimp and chicken they sent out with the chef originally.
When I got up after the meal to go to the bathroom, both the menâs and the womenâs were flooded. It was disgusting. And the other thing that disgusted me was the fact that the group that was sitting on the other end of the seating ring finished about 45 minutes before us, and nobody bothered to come clean up their dishes. They were left there for us to stare at. I highly doubt I will be back for anything other...
Read moreFirst off, the service was great.
Not caring for a full hibachi show, we decided on a regular dining room experience. The food itself was towards the mediocre side. The gyoza was good (can never go wrong with gyoza, though), but the Ishikari nabe was on the bland side (sumo tournament going on right now so I wanted nabe).
Now comes the primary issue: business integrity. We had $40 worth of gift certificates that were paid for that we were PROMISED would be good even after a year (the date was even left blank intentionally). The manager was a broken record about the year from the issuance date despite the intentionally blank date field.
TLDR; never buy a gift certificate from this place as you are just throwing money away unless you use it in the immediate future.
Otherwise, this is a mediocre fusion establishment that probably won't get our business again until they apologize and honor the gift certificates that we lost money on.
If you have business in Pittsburgh, there are a couple of Japanese restaurants I know of where you can order things like karaage, katsudon, and even takoyaki. You can even practice your Japanese conversation skills with native speakers at...
