So I have worked in the food industry fairly extensively. Not claiming to be a know it all, because I get it, some places have their good and bad days, but there were no redeeming factors to tonight. I went with my girlfriend and her father. Me and him both got shrimp and they weren’t that bad just not worth the price. My girlfriend, on the other hand got a filet (the pricey steak that if not cooked to perfection can really make a statement) and to say we are disappointed is an understatement. So first, the waitress was out of the kitchen for about two minutes at a time and had about five tables around us and kept forgetting to get the things we asked for. I understand things pile up, and I would never be one to shy from a good tip because you never know what’s going on outside of the restaurant, but when I come to a specialty restaurant as Red Lobster, impressions are everything. So the steak first came out and before she could even cut into the steak, she stated that it’s probably overcooked. And to say it was overcooked was an understatement. I mean straight up beef jerky. No liquid, extremely hard and brown throughout. It took a solid 20 minutes before the next steak came out. And the reason I say STEAK instead of FILET is because there is no way it was a filet. I used to work at a steakhouse and I would assume it was a sirloin because, while cooked to the proper temp, it was super tough. And it’s not like we wanted it med well. It was a medium steak. I gave it the finger test and there was no movement. I even thought it was another well done steak. Between three people it was about 80 bucks. That’s not small by any means and I’ve had better experiences at Texas Roadhouse for half the price. I hate to point fingers but competition encourages improvement. I’m a firm believer that one experience should not make an opinion because there are so many factors to take into account. I will be giving an update if and when I go back. Not trying to bash anyone in particular. Just a fan of constructive criticism and constant improvement. Hopefully my next experience...
Read moreI just have to say that the service and the food are far above average at this location! We stopped eating at red lobster at having multiple bad experiences at our local location in Pittsburgh but tried a few other locations and were also let down. We used to eat at red lobster 1-2 times a month. But when crabfest came around again this year we figured we’d give it a try again but decided to drive 45 minutes away to the washington location. WOW were we glad we did!!! On our first visit Sarah was our server and she was AMAZING!!! We can be pretty picky...tend to have a lot of special requests...take a lot of time to decide....ask a lot of questions....basically we can be a pain. But she was SO patient and friendly!! Being a former server, a know a good server...she’s an excellent server! And the food was PERFECT!!! No soggy over cooked crabs legs here! No food left sitting under the warming lights for 20 minutes here! No forgotten salads or biscuits here! And my drink was brought out right when it was made...unlike at other locations where it was left sitting at the bar until all the ice melted. And ABSOLUTE PERFECT EXPERIENCE!!!
So this evening we returned and had an equally amazing server named Jeremiah. In conversation, we learned that Sarah was his fiancée! It’s no surprise that these 2 equally hard working individuals would fall in love! They both have amazing personalities and exemplify EVERYTHING AN AMAZING SERVER SHOULD BE!!!
The food was just as amazing tonight as the first visit....but the service is what really stands out because I forgot my phone on the table and somehow these 2 managed to contact ppl in my password protected phone and track me down even though I was already on my way back to get it!!! 😂😂😂 They had my friend, my daughter, and my cousin all contacted before I even knew my phone was missing!!! THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH FOR GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND WITH THE SERVICE LONG BEFORE MY PHONE WAS EVEN LOST!!! You guys are amazing!!!! Thanks so...
Read moreThe star of this visit was the service. They really wasn’t busy at the time so we were seated and waited on quickly. If it wasn’t for that it would have been only two stars. I eat at Red Lobster fairly often back home. Was surprised at the difference in food despite having the same menu between the two places. The Cheddar Bay Biscuits at this location were flat and dry compared to back home where they are served warm and fluffy. The Seafood Stuffed Mushrooms had only a smidgen of Seafood Stuffing and a ton of Monterey Jack cheese. Quite different than back home where the seafood stuffing is a much larger portion and the cheese isn’t overly abundant. These are two of my favorites at Red Lobster and I was highly disappointed in both. I also ordered the Seaside Shrimp Trio, another favorite of mine. The Walt’s Favorite Shrimp was close, but nowhere near as good as it is back home, but it wasn’t terrible though. The Garlic Shrimp Scampi, well while it wasn’t bad, it had not even a remnant of garlic in it. It was just like shrimp in butter? That was a big minus for me. And the Shrimp Linguini Alfredo, well it also came close, but no cigar. Back home it is moist and fresh, here it was stiff cool and you could push the whole thing by sticking your fork in the middle and move the entire serving. I can’t honestly say the food was terrible. It was just not as good as what I’ve come to expect from...
