Brown Baguette Bakery Cafe — Restaurant in Southaven

I called to get information on cakes and the person who answered the phone was very unhelpful and could give me zero information. She seemed completely uninterested in helping me. I felt that my phone call was annoying to her and I felt like she was not interested in my business. Not being able to quote me a cake price is understandable but the lack of a helpful, kind and just general good disposition caused me to not want to do business here. Very unfortunate to say the least.

I absolutely have no problem with your inability to give me a price over the phone with limited information from me. It was 95 percent personality and customer service in this case. The person on the phone seemed like they couldn't be bothered. Totally don't mind though because we are going with Old towne bakery who had an excellent disposition on the phone and could give a round about figure with just a few details which I was able to give because they had the patience on a Friday afternoon at 4:30 to help me. The manner in which you replied does not make you look any better. More defensive than apologetic. The cakes do look amazing and I would have spend a good bit on one. Again, very unfortune. Very disappointed! I purchased a cake for my daughter’s birthday party. The cake looked amazing, but did not taste good. The cake icing wasn’t sweet and had a weird taste. NONE of our guests liked the taste of the cake and many of them threw away almost whole pieces of cake that was sliced for them. I still had a lot of the cake leftover because word passed around that it wasn’t good. Most importantly, the birthday girl didn’t like it. I’m not one to complain or return anything. However, this was disappointing and the cake wasn’t cheap. I called the store to tell them and asked if I could get a partial refund. Honestly, I would’ve taken anything even a few cupcakes. However, I was told I could absolutely not get a refund and wasn’t offered anything. She precedes to say I’m the first customer to complain about their icing in about 5 years and I should make sure I know what I’m purchasing from now on. She then says they are not Walmart or Kroger. She even admitted their icing is different. After this, I’m now upset. I have used The Brown Baguette Bakery before, and the cake was beautiful and very flavorful. I loved it....I am again using them for a get together at an assisted living facility. I am excited to see what they create for me from the 1930's to the 1950's Era. I personally love the 1950's Diners with their Neon pinks and Neon aqua colors, bright reds and bright blues, blacks and whites. I am leaving the cake and pink square strawberry yummy things to the cake decorators imagination.
