Tops Bar-B-Q Stateline — Restaurant in Southaven

Tops? More like bottoms.

Let me start off by saying this is not only the worst BBQ restaurant I’ve ever been to but the worst restaurant in general I’ve ever been to.

The cashier who takes your orders was rude and pushy.

Upon getting my order I quickly found out my ‘jumbo’ sandwich wasn’t as jumbo as you would think.

I look around for BBQ sauce to put on my sandwich and to dip my fries in but there is none anywhere except two small bottles at the front by where you place your order. The bottles had very little sauce in them. There was no cups for sauce and your meal is served to you on a grubby plastic tray. No way am I going to poor sauce on a plastic tray and dip my fries in it.

First I tried to eat the BBQ beans so I could have a container to poor sauce into. I opened the plastic container of beans and was greatly disappointed. It tasted like a can of beans that had been opened and microwaved in a rancid sauce.

In the back ground there are several customers complaining that their number was 275 and they are calling out numbers in the low 300’s and that they have been there for 30+ minutes with still no sign of food.

Once I got around to trying the sauce I realized two thing: first, this is the worlds worst BBQ sauce, and second, there is random chunks of god knows what in the sauce. Before I even tried the sauce I lifted the bun of my not so jumbo sandwich to put some sauce on it and revealed that almost the entirety of the meat was fat. Quickly coming to my senses and my internal instincts I decided to just delicately drizzle some sauce on one fry to try it. Needless to say I almost vomited right then and there.

Let’s move on to the safe bet: the fries. Always a safe bet in the restaurant industry. Well not today kiddos. Eating the fries was like playing a game of Russian roulette. Am I going to get a soft fry or a fry so hard my teeth might just break upon chewing? Reach in your greasy very meager bag of fries to find out.

Before leaving I might as well get a refill of soda before I leave. The pop machine was sporadically spraying carbonated soda into my cup. Got me at every turn...

Not one thing was good about it.. The phone was busy the entire 30 minutes I spent attempting to call the order in to save time. The employee at the window was not so much rude as she was entirely disengaged. , no hello, no smile, no thank you, just "sign the top copy" and shut the window, handed me my cokes, shut the window, gave me my order, said nothing but stared at me as I told her (I thought they might need the info in case their phone system was on the blink )I couldn't call the order in and kept getting a busy signal.Stared and shut the window. Without a word! If you dislike your job so much please find another. Your attitude is obviously not a good fit. After getting home, found part of my order was missing, the jumbo brisket sandwich was a regular size (cost 10.99) and had 3 chunks of meat which were mostly chunks of fat. The jumbo BBQ sandwich was the size of a regular, 9.95, and had minimal slaw and sauce even though I asked for extra. The two orders of beans were missing. I will never , ever visit a Tops restaurant again, and I will spread the word that the only decent place in my area for BBQ is either Neelys (INTERSTATE ) up the street on Stateline, or Corkys on Goodman. I wasted 30.00 on a very unpleasant experience and horrible lunch. I have learned...

The manager Jason McCord calling and threatening my Ole lady that's not cool. Someone needs to do something about him. I have text to prove it. I want something done about it. I would like to talk to someone about his behavior out side of work. It that's who you want to represent your company that's a shame. I will never eat there because of him. I will do my best to make sure my friend and family don't eat their either. Is actions out side of work. Telling my Ole lady that she need to stop running around with me. Im a grown adult. Two people are allow to date. He was upset that the mother of their was dating someone new. Calling me a boy toy. He has charges for assault. He needs help if he thinks is okay to hit women then claim to love them. He is a sick person hiding behind a smile. Truly disgusting human beings. He claim to be man no man hits a woman. He telling her all kinds of crazy stuff. Blowing it all out of proportion because he found out she was seeing someone. The kid had an accident this weekend. He is acting like we beat her. That's not the case at all. Then threatened to call cps, telling her what she can and can not do to with the child. That disgusting. So I had a few to say to him. His behavior out side of work is not a good look...
