Lucky China — Restaurant in Southaven

I stopped by because I’ve been craving rice since coming to the U.S. It’s mainly a takeout place, but they kindly welcomed me to dine in.

The food was truly, truly delicious. One lady prepared everything by herself after I placed my order, and I was so impressed. I forgot the name of the main dish, but even though I ordered a small size, it was super filling and satisfying!

It was packed with veggies like celery, bell peppers, onions, carrots, napa cabbage, mushrooms, along with shrimp and pork. It actually felt more like a veggie-packed dish than anything else, which I loved.

The egg soup was incredible too—there were so many eggs I couldn’t even count them! It was also a small size, but the portion was very generous, and the soup had a nice thick, comforting texture. So tasty.

They also gave me complimentary wonton chips! They were crispy and really delicious!

This meal truly recharged me, both physically and emotionally. I’m so grateful—and I definitely want to come back again!

I have been here quite a few times in the past and have never received the food not service that I got. I ordered the shrimp egg foo young and general tso chicken. Everything was hot when she handed it to me, but when I got home to eat the food was overcooked to the point I had to throw the majority of the meal in the trash. The chicken was chewy and hard very little sauce and the egg foo young was so soggy and the shrimp on the bottom was so overcooked. The food tasted as if it was reheated in a microwave and placed in the box. I was told that it would take 10 mins to complete my call in order and I wasn't very far but when I got there it was handed to me right out the window no wait!!! That was good and bad cause how could you have completed that order in 15mins and have it ready and bagged by the time I arrived? It was partially already prepared. I ordered the lunch General Tso’s chicken on Door dash yesterday! I don’t know what they’re doing differently, but it was the best I had ever tasted! It had more spice than normal which was perfect, I think the breading was more like the sweet and sour chicken then tossed in the sauce, and it was just so flavorful. I also like the bigger chunks of chicken they used because you can actually chew it and taste the chicken. This new recipe is fire! I also messed up and initially forgot to change the address from my house to my work, and lucky China was on it and super nice and helpful about it! The rice was a bit over cooked/kinda mushy for my liking, but it was still fine! Only place I’ll ever get my Chinese if I’m at work or out and about!! Great service...
