Jim Saucier Memorial Park — Local services in Southaven

Great park located beside the library and police department. I take my grandson there often. It has new sidewalks to walk around the pond. It contains ducks, cranes, and turtles. It also has a waterfall that allows the water to flow into the pond. Nice trees shade most of the walking path. Your walk takes you to the door of the library, very convenient. There is a small area with playground equipment - slides, tunnel, ect. No swings. Made for toddlers to appx 6 yr old children. The park has a nice covered area with picnic tables. Needs better designated parking, more clear markings, better walkway layout convenience to avoid walking on the grass when you're not planning to. The walking path is not easily visible nor marked and because of the height of the nice foliage and/or angles in which you're standing it can make it difficult to see where a path will continue or make it appear there isn't a path where one is. The waterfall is beautiful and the small pond would be a bit better, if it were cleaned up some. Overall, it's a nice spot just needs...

Absolutely delightful. The waterfall, the large pond, the walking trail, little playground and all the beautiful greenery. A lovely place to go, with or without children. Plus, exercise stations around the walking trail. Safe area, I mean, the Police Department in across the Street and the public library is next door. And a pavilion with picnic tables. Great for small events. Been to a Wedding party there. As well as, a Mississippi Public Broadcasting event with Felder Rushing! It's a lovely...
