Zoup! Eatery — Restaurant in Southfield

I stopped in for lunch hoping to get a bowl of vegetable soup. Unfortunately, their vegetable soup had beef stock, so I wasn't able to get that. The only vegetarian options they had both were tomato and looked like pasta sauce rather than soup. I am not a vegetarian, so I asked if they had chicken noodle and they did. I ordered a bowl of that, to my surprise being a few cents shy of $10.00. That is a lot for a bowl of soup. However, if it had been good I probably wouldn't say anything about the price. But, quite frankly, it was some of the worst chicken noodle I have ever had. They put dill in it, which threw off the smell and flavor. Dill really does not belong in chicken noodle soup. Lemon rice usually has dill and it compliments the lemon, but this chicken noodle soup was pretty awful. I forced myself to eat it because I was on my lunch break and didn't have time to get something else. The young woman who served me was kind and tried to accomodate. Debated between 2 and 3 stars. Food isn't bad, my issue was the service.

I placed my order online and was really wanting a salad. I hardly ever pay for stuff online (I usually pay at the restaurant) but decided to do it this once since I just wanted to get my food real quick and go. Also, when you order online you are required to put in a phone number.

So anyway, I get there and get told that they are out of LETTUCE. This is at 6:00pm and they close at 8:30. I was never called or anything so I had to get something else and wait when the purpose was for me to just grab my food and go. Also, I wanted a salad. If I knew they couldn't do salads I would have preferred to go somewhere else. I have no idea why I was not called in regards to something like this, that is pretty bad customer service on their end. Then I already paid for it...I guess I could have raised a fuss and got a refund but wasn't going to over something so simple. I won't be back.

If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience today was HORRIBLE.

I walked in and the line was nearly out of the door. Normally, things are moving so I don't mind the wait. Today, I waited 20 mintues to even place my order. After that, it was nearly an HOUR to get food. By the time we waited an hour, my husband and I decided we just wanted our soup and refund for our sandwiches. The woman at the register gave us all our money back and basically told us no food. I'm so digsuted with this place.

The workers that were there today were lazy and clueless. They had two people making sandwiches and one person just standing around talking on the phone. A little while later, the 'manager' came in and apologized, then proceeded to throw everything out and start over.

Long story short, don't waste your time here. I'm sure that even when it's slow, service is still terrible. I will NEVER come back and will be telling all of my family...
