Burger Yard — Restaurant in Southgate

Last night, we decided to try Burger Yard in Southgate for takeout. We were looking for something new, fresh, and different from Mickey D's or Wendy's, so we gave it a shot. Upon arrival, the cook and cashier were friendly and cheerful as they showcased all the burger and cheesecake options.

Before visiting, we previewed the menu online, where the combo prices were listed $1 cheaper than in the restaurant. When I pointed this out to the cashier, he explained that prices might vary by location. The cook appeared very focused and careful as he prepared the sandwiches, which made me think the food would be delicious.

I ordered the Double Yard Burger, and my significant other got the Bird in the Yard chicken sandwich. Unfortunately, when I got home, the sandwiches were very disappointing. The Double Yard Burger had low-quality beef, and the bun was bland, dry, and crumbly. The patty reminded me of frozen burgers from a bag. The Bird in the Yard was even worse, with a processed dark meat chicken patty instead of a chicken breast.

The shoestring fries looked appetizing with their cajun-style seasoning and were freshly made and crispy. However, the seasoning was overpowering and too spicy, and ketchup couldn’t balance the flavor.

Overall, the burgers were made with subpar ingredients, and the inconsistency between the online and in-store prices was frustrating. I hope this restaurant improves by using fresh, in-house-prepped beef patties, whole chicken breast for sandwiches, and allowing customers to choose their fry seasoning. They should also make sure online pricing matches what’s offered in-store.

I wanted to like this place I really did. I ordered 3 sandwiches 1 combo and 2 10 piece nuggets. Idk if the speaker is work correctly or something else.i said I just want the sandwiches. Instead of telling me you have to buy the combo. I wasn’t giving my nuggets (wasn’t charged either for them) or my drink for 1 combo. was charged for water being part of a combo. I would’ve just picked a drink (but I didn’t get the one lol so I’m sure I wouldn’t have got the rest). I keep getting interrupted during my order instead of taking the payment for the person at the window. Then I had to reorder all over again. I had to repeat myself even tho I was screaming so they can hear. Ima have to stick with tastey burger for now till this place gets...

I was excited to try the new burger place and I heard great things so off I went rooting for the home team and I still wish them success but I just have to be honest I've never had a more overcooked burger patty from a restaurant from the outside of the Paddy for a good quarter inch it had been on the grill for so long it was actually you could flick it and it was like flicking wood so needless to say it was unedible and tossed it in the garbage disappointed and bummed out. I have seen a lot of positive things and I'm not saying every experience would be the same as mine so I encourage you to try it for yourself and I I'm sure I will give them a second shot myself maybe it was just the one off so...
