Flower Child — Restaurant in Southlake

I was so excited to try this place being an old 70s hippie myself. I think there's some tweaking that might need to happen. Just my opinion, but I felt the ordering process was pretty weird. It was lunch time and the line to order did get long very quickly, but having someone go through the line and assign table numbers to each party was weird. What if I didn't want to sit at that table? What if I'm claustrophobic and don't appreciate being crammed in a table for two in between parties of two on each side with barely enough room to get in or out? Good thing I've lost 30 lbs lately. Anyway, I ordered the Flying Avocado wrap with a side of roasted broccoli. The wrap was non descript. Maybe some more or other type of dressing and/or more seasoning of some sort would have helped. The broccoli was excellent and the best part of the meal. I might try it again, but the most annoying part was the HIGH level of NOISE! I’ve done two pickup orders here and both times have been absolutely terrible. The first time I tried to place online, the website wouldn’t work, so I had to call to order. When I got to curbside pickup, they had an incredibly hard time finding my order and claimed I ordered multiple times, I had to basically retell them my entire order to make it and figure it out. Took about 5 phone calls and 30 minutes. The second time was the same issue- called to place an order and when I got to pick up they couldn’t find my order. The girl on the phone was argumentative, claimed I ordered at the wrong location, claimed I was giving them the wrong spelling or pronunciation of my name. Finally got the food and this picture is what it looked like, with my salmon drowning in watery potato goo. I can’t believe actual cooks and servers at a restaurant thought this was acceptable to put in a bag and hand to a customer. Hardly looks like an $18 meal. My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at Flower Child, and it was such an amazing experience. My husband is very much a “meat and potatoes” guy, so I was pleasantly surprised when he said his meal was delicious! He had the chicken entrée with gold potatoes, red chili–glazed sweet potatoes, and a side of mac & cheese. I ordered the avocado Caesar with salmon. Both were absolutely fire! 🔥 To top it off, the manager, Johnny, stopped by our table. He was engaging, kind, and genuinely interested in our experience. The entire staff was friendly and attentive from start to finish. And then came dessert… the lemon olive oil cake. Wow. Just wow. It was delightful, light, refreshing, and the perfect ending to our meal. Flower Child has quickly become one of our go to restaurants.
