My fault, I should have read the reviews first. Walked in with my wife at 8:40 on a Friday night. Closing time posted online says 9:30. Sign on the door says 9:30. Got a weird look walking in. Seems like they were avoiding us. Took like 14 minutes to take a drink order. We ordered food at the same time. At 9 the waiter comes by, before the meal arrives, saying that if we need any more food, we better order now, the kitchen is closing?? I said, "Don't you close at 9:30? "Mumble mumble, we all leave at 9:30" Enter acrid smelling mopping near our table and sweeping trash from under the adjacent table. Sweeping guy sits 2 tables away waiting for us to move at 9:10. "Can we please order a coconut ice cream with sticky rice kind sir..?" , "are you sure, its really sour, is that ok?" Cut meal short to avoid any more subtle clues. Take the desert to go. Open desert in car..no sticky rice. Yay! Classless. It would be ok for a waffle house, not a Southlake "fine eatery." Lost a potential customer, but at least everyone gets to go home at 9:30! Food was passable, but bland.
Updated: Reaction to response 9/12/24 After we got there, sat for way too long waiting for the first contact to even get drink orders, then ordered the food, some tome later, around 9 he came back to tell us that the kitchen was closing-a full 30 minutes before the posted closing time. Why not just post that you close at 9??
Why ask if my wife if she was sure about the "sour mangos"??, if you were just going to leave them off of a wrapped up "to go order"?? We paid for them.
I would have taken a simple "sorry, we will do better". This is untruthful damage control. People leave reviews for a reason...to help with feedback. If you ignore it, try to change the facts, and don't make any changes, it's pointless.
Change your posted hours to 9 instead of 9:30, and if someone orders something, just make the order...
Read moreIf you have ever ate Thai food before, you don't want to go here. This food has no authenticity, this place is for Americans who knew nothing or less about Asian cuisine. We went on 06/24, ordered Tom Yam, Platter and pad thai. There is no Tom Yam in Tom yam soup. Really?? It is very tangy and watery with so much salt and tamarind. Tom Yam without Tom Yam. Someone who does not know Tom Yam would be ok eating that lousiest thing for 15 bucks. The sampler.. there were only 6 to 8 thin sad looking items in that plate. Spring rolls are so cheap.. you can get good quality frozen spring rolls, shrimp rolls, Satay ..usually a big bag for 5 dollars in asian store. Pad Thai was ok but the quantity was way less for 15 dollars. Just go eat if you have too much money and starving and would die before the next turn. One or two pieces of chicken and another half cup of noodles would not cost more than 50 cents. And they charged 20% service fee, and they are not expecting any tips anyways for that food. Btw, I am an Indian, living in Southlake. I lived in Singapore and a citizen of Singapore. We cook Asian (Indian is not asian) food at home and also eat them quite a bit outside too.
I did not know how to post a response to below - We were party of 5 (family of 5, yea maximum five) my son came from scout camp and so he wanted to eat some good food. We came as a family, yes only 5. The bill did not say Gratuity, if it did I would have asked an explanation. But it did say service charge. Tom Yam was missing the lemon grass and other lime leaves flavor. You may want to check that. Thx for...
Read moreMy Husband and I ate here a few months ago, and we were impressed. The pineapple fried rice was awesome, and our other food was delicious! BUT our daughter asked where I would like to eat for Mother's Day early dinner. I suggested Thailicious thinking they would enjoy the wonderful food we had. NOPE that didn't happen, the food was bland and no flavor to any of the dishes we had. My husband ask for heat of like 3 and there wasn't any heat at all. My Grandchildren ask for fried rice to go with their entrees, and the waiter said no only brown rice or white! Why? who knows, most places will change out rice for fried rice with a small up- charge! And I had to ask for the Thai tea I ordered 3 times before the waiter got it for me. Oh wait the best is yet to come, after my Daughter & SIL paid the ticket, we were visiting at the table and waiter come over and said his manager wanted to know why he wasn't tipped more??? Our daughter explained that she doesn't tip on the price of the food but on the service she receives. The rudeness of this manager was unreal! The tip was more than it should have been anyway, but to come make a spectical at our table, with others hearing this, was wrong and uncalled for! People don't really have to tip at all. It's not a law! If your service is not great or your food isn't good then your tip can reflect that. Sadly we will not return, because, a manager forced their employee to be embarrassed and fumble over his words, to find out why his tip...
