What a terrible day!!! . My friend and I who live in the neighborhood and are teachers at a school down the street and frequent the bar area for HH and dinner after work weekly. We love supporting our neighborhood establishments but today was a dehumanizing experience . We LOVE our bartender Paloma. She is the best. So this review has no bearing on her. She was so sweet to call us after and make sure that we would return based on the most dehumanizing treatment that the new manager JOSEPH imposed on us. He was so rude and nowhere to be found when we needed him. He didn’t want to even understand that our complaint about a huge LOUD rude party was basically in our laps at the booth we sat in. The assistant Hispanic lady totally understood that our personal space was violated and felt sorry for us. JOSEPH on the other hand didn’t want to listen to our complaints about this party taking us over. On that note , I have hosted 10-15 events during the same time and wanted to reserve the bar area and over the past 8 years was told by the sleezy manager that they did not honor large parties during that time in the bar area. So my question to you !!!!! Is it because are teachers and you think you can screw us like everyone else ? Well guess what. The buck stops here tonight. We left and called the police. They showed up but conveniently the doors were locked. I called to ask Joseph to check my area where we were sitting ti see if I left an iPad there during the horrible discussion that this large man didn’t want to be bothered with. This is what he said , “ I’m not going by the table because people are sitting there !” REALLY? You’re the manager !!!! You should be going by to check on every table all night to check k on service and food. This VERY LARGE man JOSEPH took his sweet time to come to our table after my request to complain about the party that was all in our personal space. He NEVER showed his face when WE THE REGULARs were there before that keep this overpriced place ALIVE! When I called him he told me he would not look and I told him a government device might have been left there and that I was going to call the police. He said , “ whatever, and do whatever and hung up on me ! “ No integrity , no principles , and this CLASSLESS JOSEPH just put your company on alert with the BBB ! Do something please and fire him . He doesn’t have enough class to work in our neighborhood. Your fabulous kind bartenders are always pleasant , smiling , caring , and on point. WE ALL LOVE them very much . They know the neighborhood regulars, all of us , and are always happy to have us . THEY are the only reason this old family business is alive. The original owners are turning over in their graves I’m sure of it right now . What a shame. This is not what they would ever wish for all of their hard work they put into making Molinas a...
Read moreThis is one of those Tex-Mex chains that’s been around for a while and the people who enjoy it are regulars keeping the restaurant alive. Like most Tex-Mex restaurants it’s decorated with traditional Mexican designs and decorations. It has a bar hidden inside the restaurant that explicitly states absolutely no minors and another bar inside the restaurant to cater to diners. There was no one at the host stand when we arrived, but it was lunchtime and there wasn’t many patrons. We waited for a few minutes before someone came to seat us.
Our server brought us water, chips, and three different kinds of salsas while my wife went to the restroom. We then ordered the presidente margaritas, lunch combo fajitas for one, and the mole enchiladas. The food came out within 15 minutes with the fajitas sizzling on a bed of grilled onions. It seemed like they did the ice on the grill trick because the meat was over cooked and didn’t seem fresh. My wife enjoyed her mole enchiladas. The refried beans were great, too. The Mexican rice was a little wet and not my favorite.
The margaritas were underwhelming. I appreciated how they didn’t use a very sugary mix and the menu says only lime juice. It came with Cointreau and patron, but it wasn’t very strong.
When we finished our meal we were brought sweet Mexican candies which is cinnamon sugar pecans in condensed milk and sugar. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Overall this place wasn’t bad, but it was just meh and...
Read moreMy first time visiting this restaurant - conveniently located by my son’s daycare. Chicken tacos were really good. Price for food is decent, can’t complain. Service is ZERO however. And when you couple that with a language barrier and phantom billing - we have an issue. I ordered a margarita during happy hour and asked for it to be peach flavored - with the peach syrup on the side. Restaurants are famous for dumping 2oz of flavored syrup in a drink making it way too sweet. Well, In the end I got a $14.50 bill for an otherwise $6.75 margarita as it came tacked along with a $2.75 chambord topper (no clue what that is bc I didn’t order it!) and then, wait for it - an additional $5.75 for peach snapps! Ummm....Really?! I asked for peach syrup - just like strawberry or mango. I ordered food and food to go and ended up leaving the entire drink at the bar as it was super strong (in a bottom shelf, headache the next day kind of way) and jeez was it disgusting. And I never waste a margarita - it’s my favorite drink in the entire world. I happily pay for margaritas at Cyclone Anaya’s or anywhere I want a “top shelf” margarita from - no matter the cost. What irritated me was that I felt like the bartender did it to get a bigger tip....sad bc I usually tip very...
