Disappointing Rush and Unprofessional Atmosphere

Today's breakfast at "The Original Pancake House" with my sister and uncle was a truly unpleasant experience. While our server, Jose, was exceptional – professional, attentive, and genuinely kind – the rest of the visit was a disaster.

We arrived at 2:30 PM, knowing the restaurant closed at 3:00 PM. We ordered promptly, but from the moment we received our coffee, we were subjected to a barrage of disruptive cleaning. Servers aggressively swept the floors, stacked chairs around us, and essentially dismantled half the dining area while customers were still eating. The atmosphere was incredibly rushed and rude.

The food itself was underwhelming. My pancakes tasted like they'd been microwaved, a far cry from the fresh breakfast I expected. However, the true low point was when another server brought out a large bucket and mop, and the overwhelming smell of floor cleaner permeated the air as we tried to finish our meal.

We asked Jose if we were inconveniencing them by staying, and he assured us we weren't. However, the actions of the staff and the palpable sense of being rushed made us feel incredibly unwelcome. The manager's demeanor was also unprofessional and dismissive, compounding the problem.

Jose was the only redeeming factor in this otherwise awful experience. It's clear that the issues stem from poor management, not individual employees. As a local resident, I can confidently say I will never return to "The original pancake house." This restaurant prioritizes rushing customers out over providing a pleasant...

My s/o and I went for breakfast and originally everything was great, our waitress was kind and quick and all the food looked wonderful. We ordered strawberry pancakes (s/o) , fruit lovers french toast (me) , and chocolate strawberry crepes (shared) .

Everything tasted great until we tried the crepes however, they tasted bitter and had a strange banana type flavor to them. I usually like bananas myself but this tasted wrong. So we flagged down the manager and tried to explain the situation, this is where the actual issue started. The manager was rude to us and "stubborn", we tried explaining that something tasted off with the crepes but all he was asking/saying was that that was what we ordered, and we got what we ordered. Shortly after he left us without helping in any way our waitress came back and we tried explaining the situation to her and she was overall helpful and tried to go get the manager for us. After this the manager came back and we tried explaining once more that something about the crepes tasted off but once again he ignored our complaints and was just saying we were given what we were ordered.

We decided to just give up and pay our bill and when we got home we both were feeling sick and my s/o actually ended up throwing up. We also got charged extra for whipped cream we didn't ask for.

Overall an awful experience, most likely will not...

This establishment's Corporate Office says as a franchise, what they are doing is not acceptable. When they were contacted on this issue, they stated that they would be contacting the management of their franchise involved as they are not allowed to do what follows. On three occasions, l have ordered takeout and on each occasion without notifying me, they have charged a range of $9, $11 and $11 as a service fee in addition to taxes and tips. This was never done there previously and apparently began without the knowledge of patrons and no posted sign in the establishment. When the entity was contacted, they offered to resolve the issue and promised to replace the order as the last order was also not as requested; eggs.not over easy, potatoes burned. Went there today and the staff refused to honor their offer after l drove there in the rain. They kept going back and forth and after over an hour l left without the promised resolution. The amounts were $70.00, $79.00 and $65.00. Its after the 2nd order we really noticed that charge so.partial oversight for us but something they should.not be doing any way. So they charged a total.of roughly $31 in service charge on 3 orders where the person processing the order was tipped. THEY PROMISED TO.REPLACE THE ORDER!!!!!There should be a sign or...

This place is a favorite for my husband to have father/daughter days. So it was an honor to come with them a few weeks ago. There was a wait to be seated but not too bad. The server was nice. The food was good and tasted fresh. There Pancakes syrup is very good. However when it came down to the bill, they add a service charge of 15% and also has suggested tip amounts inwhich the tip for 15% is the same dollar amount as the service charge. So sorry but no extra tip for you. We have always been good tippers 20% is the lowest we always gave. Since COVID we upgraded our tip giving to 30% everyone was hurting and giving a little more was something we thought would help. But when we see that they add the tip to the bill, it make us think that this is all you think your worth. They should stop this. Let the customer give the tip they want. What if the service was bad they 15% to some people is too much. I believe that when you add tip to the bill the server won't work as hard since they know no matter what they will get at least 15%.
