While I appreciate the pleasant atmosphere and friendly, but slow service, I've noticed some recurring inconsistencies with the food preparation.

On my last visit, I ordered the Mexican Smash Burger, which sounded incredibly appealing from the menu description. Unfortunately, the reality fell significantly short of expectations. The burger was missing key components advertised – the pico de gallo, avocado, chipotle mayo, and the bun lacked the promised toast. Furthermore, the cheese was dry looking and the burger had an unpleasant, freezer-burned taste. The overall impression was that the dish lacked the care and attention described and the burger was thrown together with no care.

On previous occasions, I've experienced similar issues with missing ingredients in my orders. I suspect the lack of written order taking contributes to these repeated omissions. While I understand that mistakes happen, the frequency of these issues raises concern about the consistency of the kitchen's preparation and order fulfillment processes.

Despite these shortcomings, I want to emphasize that I do enjoy other aspects of the restaurant. The birria tacos and fajitas are delicious, and the ambiance is inviting. They do bring the missing ingredients upon request. I remain a loyal customer, hopeful that addressing these preparation issues will enhance the overall dining experience and ensure that their menu accurately reflects the quality of the food served. I believe implementing a system of written orders would be a significant step towards...

So Five Stars is based on only our 1 visit last evening at the restaurant so please keep that in mind. Let me say, we were heartbroken when Sam (owner/chef) of Tanti Baci decided to close. We had enjoyed so many great meals, laughs and life milestones there for many years. That being said, the venue had gotten a little dated and tired looking.... So, first off let me tell you , you will be utterly amazed at the transformation of the venue !! I am not sure how they managed it but the restaurant seems larger and more spacious , even thou it is the same space. The "The Day of the Dead" theme is whimsical and refreshing. I meant to pick up a card when leaving of the artist, but forgot, but will be sure to pick one up next time, the murals on the walls thru out are AMAZING, whoever the artist is , is truly amazing. I would check out the Bone Yard just for the murals, but let me also tell you our food was fantastic. We cannot really speak for a lot of the traditional Mexican items, but my husband had the Mahi Mahi with mango salsa and I had the Surf and Turf (flat iron steak, grilled shrimp and plantains), both were great and we both thought the portions were large for the cost. And lastly, the service was phenomenal, our waiter Brett was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. So in ending, we cannot wait to venture back to try some of the more authentic Mexican dishes our next visit. I wish the Bone Yard much success, It is nice to have a different food choice of a restaurant for us...

Today hubby and I went to bone yard in Sparta for dinner. Made reservations for 4:30. Upon arrival the front desk immediately took us to our table. Got our chips and salsa & drinks.i ordered fish tacos and hubby ordered the burrito. When we got our food, not only was everything cold but I was missing the rice and beans so I asked the waiter. He seemed puzzled and he asked me where I saw rice and beans so I opened my app and showed him and he read (served w/ rice and beans) , so he went back and brought me about 1/2 c of each , I wasn’t impressed at all. Anyhow we kinda ate , hubby's burrito was cold inside and had no flavor, I ate 1 shrimp taco and could not eat more. So we waited for the check , no one came so we got up and went to pay up front…. We pd $78+ gave a tip. As we’re opening the door to leave, a waiter stopped us and asked me ….. excuse me … can you show me where you saw rice and beans when you ordered the shrimp tacos. (I swear I’m not making this up) I opened my phone and showed him ….. he saiid…. No that’s not the menu from our website that’s google . I said well you need to tell your manager to remove it instead of you stopping us as we’re leaving instead of talking to us st the table …. ( very unprofessional) ! I was furious, I can’t believe it! We will never go there again …I’m no chef but I know food and all I can say is that the food...

Great Restaurants in New Jersey (Part 3)😋🍕🍝🌯🌮 Don’t forget to check out parts 1 and 2 on my page as well! 1. Song’ E Napule (Rutherford) @songenapulenyc 📍106 Park Ave, Rutherford, NJ 07070 Another great restaurant for authentic Neapolitan pizza! Song’ E Napule has a wide selection of freshly-made pies, appetizers, pasta dishes, and more! This is great for a date night or group dinner! 2. Bone Yard (Sparta) @boneyardsparta 📍2 White Deer Plaza, Sparta Township, NJ 07871 I recently discovered Bone Yard and absolutely love the food and ambiance. Everything I’ve eaten here has been full of flavor! If you are in Northwest Jersey and looking for a New Mexican restaurant, I’d check out Bone Yard by Lake Mohawk. 3. El Rey Rosticeria y Restaurante (Asbury Park) @elreyrestaurant706 📍708 Emory St, Asbury Park, NJ 07712 This casual Mexican spot serves up delicious, savory dishes including these birria tacos and burrito! The portions are sizable and everything I tried was full of flavor! 4. The Butcher’s Block (Long Branch) @theblocknj 📍235 West Ave, Long Branch, NJ 07740 The Butcher’s Block is a beautiful steakhouse that is 100% worth the hype. I recently dined here for an occasion and it did NOT disappoint. The food is cooked to perfection and rich in flavor. Everything is shareable and a la carte style. The Butcher’s Block is a great restaurant in Monmouth County for group dinners and special occasions! Happy dining! Comment your favorite NJ restaurants/eateries as I’m always looking to try some new spots! Don’t forget to follow me for more eatery recs and things to do in and around NJ and the Northeast.😆 #njblogger #newjersey #northjersey #centraljersey #southjersey #njrestaurants #njeats #njfoodie

Check out this hidden gem lake town in North Jersey for beautiful views and good eats!😍⛵️🌯 📍Downtown Sparta offers stunning views of Lake Mohawk and is extremely picturesque at sunset. The Main Street here with the shops and eateries is called “White Deer Plaza & Boardwalk District” 🎄The Main Street is currently very festive, looking perfect for the holiday season, and I’m obsessed. 📌This town may be small, but it feels straight out of a movie with this festive decor. 📌I highly recommend popping into PattyCakes for a tasty sweet treat! @pattycakesnj ⛵️Also nestled in the town is an awesome Mexican restaurant called Bone Yard Sparta. I absolutely love everything about this restaurant, from the delicious food to the vibrant ambiance and outstanding service. Our waitress was very welcoming, and the food did not disappoint. The restaurant is also BYOB and offers a variety of mocktails! I ordered the chicken Enchiladas Suiza with salsa verde, and the flavors were so good. The burritos are also delicious here and generously stuffed! Visitors can expect to spend around $15-$25 per person here. @boneyardsparta 📌After a delicious dinner, you can take another stroll around town and enjoy views of the lake at night. 📌This is a private lake, but it can still be seen and admired from the Main Street of the town! Happy exploring, and don’t forget to follow me for more fun things to do in and around NJ and the Northeast!😆 #njblogger #lakemohawknj #spartanj #njlakes #northjersey #njdaytrips #njthingstodo #newjersey #njrestaurants #northjerseyeats
