Sparta Classic Diner — Restaurant in Sparta Township

I came here for dinner. Kendall served me, and she was very kind, really attentive, and caring. She came over pretty quick after I sat down. We had a conversation about our work life, and I felt like she went out of her way to offer me things to make my work day easier, like a cup of ice water for the road. That was very nice of her!! The food was delicious as always, and came out within 10 minutes!!

I also always have a great conversation with Moe too, one of the hostesses every time I come in to eat. She always greets me with a friendly smile and a wave!! She very friendly and polite, same with everyone else here too!! Thank you Kendall!! Thank you Moe!! Thank you Sparta Diner as always!! ❤️🙏

I came here for lunch. The atmosphere was still great as it's always has been!! Jessica S. served me, and she was very polite and very attentive. She came over as soon as I sat down, and took my order. My food was ready within 10 minutes, and was delicious as always. I had the Buffalo Chicken Wrap, which is my favorite item on their menu. She also was able to give me my check before my food came out. I also was able to pay at the counter right away. I came in for dinner. Same great atmosphere!! John served me, he was incredibly polite, and very welcoming!! The Pulled Pork Sandwich was delicious!! He came over to take my order in under a minute of me sitting down, and the food came out in about 5-10 minutes. I also had a great and fun conversation with one of the hostesses, who was the one who started the conversation with me!! Thank you John!! Thank you Sparta Diner as always!! ❤️🙏

I had a great lunch with the same great atmosphere. Adriana served me, and she was very attentive, very polite, and very quick. What happened?!?!? Before the fire we loved coming here. It was a bit pricey but the food was always spot on. Since they have reopened we have ordered take out twice and eaten in once.

First, the waitress was awesome. We had a large party and she was all over us (in a good way). No complaints there.

Then the food came. some dishes were overcooked, others tasted like they were sitting in the window for a while and one dish was cold. We told the waitress who replaced a couple of the meals with new ones that sadly were also not very good. It was right after they opened so we figured they were working out the kinks.

Since then we have gotten take out twice. It's been extremely disappointing to say the least. The food was very under-seasoned. One meal didn't have everything on it it was supposed to (onions, guacamole, sauce, etc) and very dry. I had to douse it in hot sauce just to get it moist enough to eat. The chicken was dried out and tasted like it had been reheated one too many times. The pizza wasn't real pizza ans tasted frozen. I won't go on, but you get the point.

The prices are insanely high, they were high before, but now its as if they are trying to make up what they lost during the time they were shut down. I don't mind paying a little more for a meal, but it has to be worth it.

PLEASE either train your cooks better or get new cooks, because something has changed and its not good. I miss having a good diner...

Start off that the manager didn’t seem like a bad guy. I did tell him that his food was bad and the service was horrendous. He did want to try and make it right but what can you do other than take money off and I’m not looking for a free meal.

The server took 20 minutes to even show his face upon our arrival and the diner was not busy. Took our drink and appetizer order. The apps came out cold and dry before we got our sodas. We had to remind the waiter we even ordered sodas. Then he disappeared from the entire restaurant until he showed up with my meal that had the quality of a TV dinner. Everything tasted like it came from a can except the vegetable on my plate that tasted like they had turned. I pushed them to the side. The bowl full of celery that was served to me as a matzo ball soup wasn’t bad but it was mostly a bowl of celery. My girl didn’t even eat her greasy fajita. Again after completely disappearing for a solid 40 minutes from the entire restaurant I finally saw my server so instead of dessert we got the check and I could finally ask for a refill on my soda. I drank it down and left. Miserable experience. So when asked by the courteous manager what was wrong I didn’t want to even waste my breath explaining that maybe the diner business just ain’t for them. I just paid my bill and even tipped the waiter. Told the manager it’s not worth even getting into because I’ll never be back anyway....
