I can't take it anymore. I went in to get lunch at 3pm, the are open until 4pm. When I arrived, the wait staff said they don't serve food after 3pm. On another occasion, went to have late lunch (I checked on line to see if they were open because I don't live in the area so I drove 30 miles) arrived at 4pm, they were suppose to be open until 9pm, nope, they said they were closed for some high school event they were too busy. OK so When I DO get to eat, the wait staff is pretty quick about taking an order, the food arrives pretty quickly, but that is the end of it. The wait staff has NEVER come back to check, to see if you need anything, to ask if you want something more, etc. so I've had to get up from my table EVERY TIME and get someone to get whatever it is I need. So if you want to eat, fine you get your food, but that's the end of it. It is too frustrating, annoying, and they need to get it together, post new hours or if they are closed on line so customers know what they heck is going on so customers do not drive for 40 minutes to get to their restaurant to find they have some new we're not open day, or we don't serve food an HOUR...
Read moreAlmost used the window addition outside, the weather was calling for it. We came in about five min to close, so that's not great of us. Was interested in the espresso that's mentioned on the billboard in Fort. Didn't end up trying it but did have a cold brew that I did not find to be particularly good. Interested to try that bag of WI bike-themed coffee though some time - is that served in house? Will be back to try espresso and hot brewed coffee, I'm sure :) Vibes are always on. Server was kind. Forgot to put myself in the guest book, but seems an oddity as a local. Providing a neutral rating kind of out of loyalty and the sociability in addition to environment because those were all positives even when the product was 2star :/ I am always quick to recommend your ice cream though, however, I haven't had it myself in...
Read moreWandered in here while visiting Sparta's scenic Water St. This place is a step back in time... soda shop, ice cream, coffee, tea, soups, and sandwiches. It was so good, I had lunch, hit the bike trail, and came back for dinner to go. The cheddar potato soup was great, and the turkey sandwich came on soft homade bread sliced about 1" thick. For drinks, I decided to go with a loose leaf tea that is brought out in a French press. On my return trip I went with a strawberry malt, ham and cheese panini, and tomato bisque soup. The turkey had a great smoky flavor, and they again used the super thick bread. The food was great, and I'm contemplating going back again before departing Ft. McCoy. My only suggestion would be to cover the bread with meat, as it tended to be situated toward the center... but that is just...
