My significant other and I are loyal customers of The Habit Burger and Grill, frequently visiting the Greenville (Haywood Rd) and Greer (Wade Hampton Blvd) locations. However, our experience at the Spartanburg location on February 28, 2025, was deeply disappointing.
We arrived around 8:00 PM, tired from a long day and looking forward to a hot, fresh meal. Upon entering, we noticed three employees: two on the grill and one who appeared to be a manager. While one employee kindly acknowledged us and said, “Someone will be with you in a moment,” no one ever came to assist us. Instead, we overheard the drive-thru employee loudly state, “We have kiosks available.” This felt dismissive and unwelcoming, as if our presence was an inconvenience.
While we are familiar with the menu and knew what we wanted, we often customize our orders in ways that are easier to communicate directly with an employee rather than using a kiosk. After waiting less than 20 seconds and seeing no effort to assist us, we decided to leave spending our money at Chick-Fil-A next door. This lack of basic customer service was appalling, especially compared to the consistently positive experiences we’ve had at other Habit Burger locations.
As two individuals working in serious, customer-focused professions where Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and service excellence are critical, we were deeply disappointed by this experience. Given our current roles in management, this situation would warrant immediate coaching for the staff involved. Employees are paid to provide a service, and this level of neglect is unacceptable and breaks company polices.
Unfortunately, this experience has led us no other choice to take our business elsewhere. While we will continue to visit other Habit Burger locations, we cannot support the Spartanburg location until significant improvements are...
Read moreWe ordered pick up through Uber eats. I sent my husband in to pick up our order. They assumed he was a delivery driver and asked him for clarity. He called me (i was outside in the car). i relayed the order, and they said ok, they would fix it immediately. 20 minutes later, my husband called me to come into the store because the staff NEVER started the order. They stated that they assumed he was a delivery driver who would cancel the order. The entire ordeal was blamed all on Uber eats system. A manager finally walked over and offered to make our order fresh. We were given one hot burger and one cold veggie patty burger. The condiments on the burgers were incorrect even though they finally located the correct order and confirmed it with me. they offered us drinks while we waited an hour past our pick-up time for all this to be sorted out. The store was not busy at all!!! When asked why they did not call Uber eats or the customer for clarity, they stated that since they assumed my husband was an Uber eats driver, he would call!!!! Even after saying they would fix it immediately they left him standing there and did not start the order until i came in upset- not sure if this was racism(hubs, the person they assumed was a delivery driver, is black and I am white) or just incompetence. I was flabbergasted at the ordeal we endured for mediocre food and bad the service. uber gave us a $2 & change credit for the trouble. terrible...
Read moreHereAfter hearing about the buzz surrounding the opening of Habit Burger Grill and witnessing the long line of cars waiting to order, I decided to give it a try. Opting not to visit the location in Lexington, SC, we ventured to the brand new one in Spartanburg.
I ordered the Char Meal, which included a Char Cheeseburger with caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and mayo, accompanied by delicious hot fries that were crispy! I also tried the Strawberry/Limeade, which I regretted not upsizing to a large. Unfortunately, I wasn't a fan of the burger as I noticed some pink parts (a bit of a bummer). Next time, I'll make sure to request it well done to avoid any disappointment. This aspect hindered my ability to provide an honest review of the burger, but I'll definitely return with an update once I do.
My husband opted for the Chicken Club, featuring a marinated chicken breast, lettuce, tomatoes, hickory-smoked bacon, avocado, and mayo on toasted sourdough. I kept an eye on his reaction, eagerly asking for his honest opinion. He devoured it so quickly that I didn't manage to snap a picture, much like my fries during the 20-minute ride home, haha. He commented that his club was delicious and that he would happily dine at Habit Burger...
