I'm not saying that the restaurant is not good or that it does not have some good qualities. But it needs a lot of work. When we got there it was a long line and I understand the premise of they want to see everybody but when you have an establishment with open seating and you have a lot of people going out the door and people don't understand old please have a seat or are you having it to go order because that's not being explained it's a confusing. So we're waiting in line everybody is a 30-minute wait you might as well say so that way they can be seated in this giant room full of open seats. And I get it if they want to see people and their new policy I get that. We actually saw people leave because they waited so long to be seated and they got tired of standing there waiting. So when we get there we have to ask where's the to-go order information so there is a bar right around the corner.
it's a decent menu but there a sweet potato french fries but you don't have a baked potato that's confusing to me. I ordered the tilapia combo and 2 shrimp combos. When it rung up it said I was going to get 10 shrimp and each of my things and also I made sure I want myself to be fried hard. When I got home I counted my shrimp only got eight now on my receipt it said I was paid for 10. So that math is off somewhere. The man said that it's season in a Cajun seasoning on the fish, shrimp and the fries are in some type of Cajun seasoning. I'm sorry but there's no Cajun seasoning it all tastes like some regular french fries that they put some seasoning salt on. The shrimp and fish were in a regular batter that they had like some salt and pepper or some seasoning salt and pepper on it but there was no Cajun seasoning. Also the tilapia did not taste like tilapia I've been eating tilapia for a long time. I have had it frozen from Walmart Publix and Ingles. I've also had fresh out of Publix Walmart Ingles and fish market so I know what different fish taste like. And that did not taste like tilapia but that's my opinion I may be wrong. Almost forgot say that the shrimp are actually good even though I didn't get my 10 pieces and I only got eight.
The service was so so and what I mean by that is it was okay/ borderline of being appropriate supposed to be medium/upscale seafood restaurant. It was maybe one young lady who was trying to be professional the whole way around and have upbeat personality. But other people either they were horsing off and playing off of people who they knew or they were flirting with people who they didn't know who they thought they knew. Some people who were slacking off and finally came out of the woodwork because they saw was a lot of people and they needed to start to work.
It was very disorganized and truthfully I didn't think it was enough people working there that to be on the production level of what they were trying to put out. I'm not saying the establishment that they has doesn't look great because it looks really nice on the inside with the ship inside and the details of the nautical theme.
I know it was a soft opening when when we went to the establishment but they have a lot of work to do to upgrade themselves. I said we would have to try them again and eat the actual boiled entrees versus their fried cuz they're fried didn't really do...
Read moreSo we went to get crab legs, it’s a treat for me because #1 it’s expensive and #2 it’s an hour way. I was very excited to get it, our waitress was very nice and told us she was new and I told her it was fine no worries. I told her 3 times what I wanted to order (2 small crab clusters) she read back to us what we wanted and confirmed what we had said. My significant others order came out before mine and I had to wait awhile. (Which is fine I don’t mind to wait for food.) She brought me the bag and on the tab it said three large crab clusters and I was like wait a minute that’s not what I ordered so I didn’t open it and I waited probably five minutes until she finally came back to our table and I told her this is not what I ordered, can I get one that I ordered? She told me no it was completely fine. And that I could eat it, the kitchen had just messed up so they just left one extra in there. She told me since the kitchen messed up I would still be OKAY to pay for 2 small clusters. I said OK are you sure and she said yes no worries, It was the kitchen’s fault. and I say OK thank you so I start enjoying my crab legs, about 10 minutes later two of the waitresses come to my table and told me hey there’s been a mixup in the kitchen and I need to take your plate back. They said there is 3 in there not two. I said I was aware of that that’s why I asked my waitress when I first got the bag and she told me it was fine. So now they are back tracking. I tried to get it corrected before I opened the bag and she told me no. Then they proceeded to say that they needed one crab leg back. At this point, I’m just shocked because I don’t want anyone touching my food. I do not want my plate to go back. So I ask if I can just pick one up and give it back. And they said yes, so I literally picked up a crab leg and handed it back to them. The waitress said she was so sorry and didn’t wanna come to me and tell me that. It’s the fact that I literally asked her if that was OK and I asked her if I could get the correct order and that’s when she told me not to worry about it. Then she proceeded to say I’m so sorry I will make this right. We’ll get it voided and you only have to pay for two small crab clusters. I said oh OK thank you. At this point I am so confused and I don’t even wanna eat anymore so I packed my crab legs up and we get the bill. When we look at the bill, the bill is completely wrong so we go up to the front to pay. Then on our bill, it said two large crab clusters. We ended up paying for two large crab clusters and they said you have to pay since you ate it. And honestly, I understand that part but it’s the fact that I literally ask if I could have my correct plate and they told me no it was fine. I don’t want to get food and not pay for it. That’s not what I’m trying to do it all. It’s the fact that they told me no it’s fine and they would still charge me for two small but then the other person is telling me one thing. They really need to be on the same page and unfortunately, I’ll never come back here again. It’s not my fault for the employees mistake. Hopefully they didn’t give that crab leg to someone else. Thanks...
Read moreBlack people when you will understand these people do not like you and only want you to keep sending money with them. It has taken me a few weeks to write this review because about how I was treated at this Red Crab. After, I had already vowed NOT to never spend anymore money at this place because of how I was treated previously. A friend talked me into trying them again, I took this bait and went just to eat lunch with my friend. So, I order the Thursday special, as always, with an extra pound of shrimp. So, when my food came, I noticed the shrimp did not look like my normal orders that I have paid for. I immediately called the waiter over to ask if this was the extra shrimp that I paid for. She (the waiter) looked and said maybe they forgot. I told her, I had eaten about three shrimp already, but would she ask the cook did they put the extra that I am paying for in my order. I have eaten there about five times and ordered the same thing and know what the extra I pay for look like. So, the cook, manager for the day, En (pronounced In) came to the table and I explained my concern. I explained to him that I had already ate about three shrimp, but this does not look right. He (EN) asks me to wait a minute, goes to get a bowl from the kitchen, places the bowl on my table, and ask me to pick all the shrimp out of the bag and put them in the bowl. I am totally livid right now but trying to remain calm. So, after counting the shrimp including those that I had ate already, En tells me, I am short about 8 shrimp. He walks off goes into the kitchen and brings back unseasoned cold shrimp in a bowl after, about another 10 minutes of wait time. So, I had those cold shrimps, along with the other now cold shrimp now that En had me to take out of my bag. Let us not forget my bill was $47.00 and this is how they treat you. I am trying to remain calm and leave because I am never stepping foot back into this business. I called the waiter over and asked her for my bill and a to go bag. She assumes I am finished eating, never asked and reaches her hand into my bag (during this COVID-19) to get the crackers out of my bag before she ever bought me the to go bag out. My friend sitting there witnessing all of this going on and says, I see now why you are not happy with this restaurant. So, for those of you people that think they like you, they do not, but they want you to continue to spend money with them and treat you like S???! First, you bring my food in a bag, plastic, flimsy, forks from the dollar store, and then treat my like sh?? And I am spending over $45.00 when I do come. I refuse to spend another dime in this place and hope you all understand, they do not like you, but they want your money. Totally unsatisfied customer and I still left the waiter a tip because of who I am as a person. Let’s see how long they will remain open with this type...
