5.11.25: After having late lunch next door, I noticed this ice cream shop and decided to check it out. I was amazed how huge this place was and it had more than just ice cream! There were a vast variety of gourmet chocolates and handmade caramel apples. There was so much to choose from that I wanted it all and knew I'd have to come back. Service was outstanding and bummed I didn't catch the employee's name who helped us. She was really nice, patient, informative, and knowledgeable. Although they didn't have the two choices of ice cream I wanted--there were so many more flavors to choose from and I wasn't disappointed at all.
So here's what I got: -Double scoop in a cup: one scoop of Fat Elvis and one scoop of Superman. Fat Elvis had a great banana taste that wasn't too overpowering and the peanut butter balanced it well and the chocolate chips gave each bite a good crunch. The Superman is a blend of three different ice creams, which oddly reminded me of bubble gum ice cream from the ice cream truck as a kid, but even better. Hard to describe but tasty if you're looking for something sweet versus chocolatey.
-Caramel Apple Pie caramel apple (unsliced). They offer to cut it up if you want, which is nice. I waited until I got home since I was having ice cream. The apple was so yummy! The apple itself was tart and sweet, the sweet white confection coating was tasty but not sure if it was supposed to resemble the crust of apple pie but nonetheless still great, and the added cinnamon sugar gave it it's apple pie touch.
-The Gold Digger Caramel Marshmallow: it was a marshmallow on a stick dipped in caramel, then rolled into rice krispie cereal, then dipped in chocolate to finish it off. I enjoyed this and liked how the cereal gave it a crunch and balanced out the sweetness of the marshmallow.
All in all, I love that I discovered this place and can't wait to come back for more ice cream and try a handful of other...
Read moreAnother outstanding business. This place has 48 flavors of ice cream, plus numerous waffle and regular cones to enjoy your selections out of. You can also eat your choices from different size cardboard bowls. I don't know how many different toppings plus sundae selections or milk shakes. WOW!!!! Yeah, Wow. If dessert is on your mind, you need to be at Pete & Belle's. Prices are stiff, well they are for this poor man anyway. Double scoop-- $7+, with the gratuity. But, oh my goodness, I received $14+ worth of savory deliciousness. So, when you look at it that way....I doubled my money. So, I went up for another scoop. Ha ha ha, oh so good. The two beautiful young college students that work there were extremely nice, patient, knowledgeable and friendly. Yes, besides serving delicious ice cream this store is supporting the local college. TERRIFIC. I was talking to these two, because they are sssooo friendly and the owners are very accommodating in letting this young lady to get hours when she is home during breaks, weekends and holidays. This is very helpful in allowing her to help pay her way through college. Again, very impressive. Everyone, double your money on savory satisfactions, and indirectly support your local Washington colleges, Patronize this store. Oh, I did forget to mention that the ROCKY MOUNTAIN CHOCOLATE FACTORY is part of this store. Yep, walk in the ice cream store and you can walk directly into the chocolate store...
Read moreI took my 3-year-old son to Pete & Belle’s (Argonne location) on Saturday, January 6, 2024. The shop is spotless with different seating options and an entire section for freshly made chocolates and other candy. But on this day we just had ice cream on our minds. I don’t think I have ever seen more inviting and delicious-looking ice cream than at Pete & Belle’s. The presentation really is phenomenal. Like just the texture of the ice cream that is so plainly visible to the eye makes you want to try every flavor they have. Speaking of the flavors, they have so many different creative ones! If only I had more time, more calories to give, and more money to spend (😂)…
We ordered a cake cone with a kid’s scoop of the Superman ice cream plopped on top of it. Man, that ice cream tasted just as good as it looked. Thick and creamy! It definitely tasted like something you can’t get from any carton or most other ice cream parlors.
The employee who helped us was friendly and so helpful. Docking one star because I feel like $4.10 is a little pricey for a kid’s scoop. We will definitely be back to try some of those really...
