So first timer here, I've heard this places mention so I thought I'd have dinner here. As soon as I arrived I was greeted I asked dinner for one and they offered table or sushi bar, when dining alone I enjoy the bars because you get to see the sushi chef skillfully prepare your food. The ambiance was great and the waitress was so wonderful. She brought me water and of course I ordered a soft drink it was cold and refreshing. She started with the miso soup and it was good not too hot, I was able to enjoy it right away and the taste was delightful. Then she brought out the edamame and they too were not hot just the right warm and they were lightly salted and the texture I thought was perfect not to soft more on the where you can feel almost a crunch, delightful! Them came out the bento box dinner combo. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and California Roll along with that was served a salad and a cucumber salad with a delicious sesame dressing and a green salad with a tasteful dressing as well of course it included steam rice and the rice was perfect consistency and stickiness that you could eat it with your Japanese chop sticks it of course had ginger and wasabi along with an orange slice. Prior to the bento box, I watched the sushi chef prepare my order which was the Alaska which is 5 pieces and includes BBQ salmon skin, cucumber, and sesame seeds with unagi sauce. The Alaska was good and gone before I knew it! Finally the only complaint I had was on the Teriyaki Chicken it was a bit dry but still good because I ate it all lol All in all it was a great experience and ambiance and I am definitely returning to try more items off the menu. 10 out of 10 would recommend this place and I will definitely be bringing my...
Read moreThis place is my FAVORITE sushi spot in Spokane! It is definitely very basic and a no-frills sorta place though, that would no doubt not be too interesting for the "Instagram-able seeking" crowd but worthy of a highly honorable mention in any food reviewers list of quality restaurants in the area and is still a hotspot for discernible Diners who could care less about a fuss being made and more about the freshness and skill used to produce their meals. Located in the heart of Spokane on super busy Main Street, amongst other dining establishments, boutique clothing, art stores, and right across the street from the park, I usually try to obtain seating near the windows for unparalleled people-watching who are walking right outside the restaurant. Today I ordered the miso soup, veggie and shrimp tempura and chashu pork belly for appetizers, then keeping it simple I opted to choose from their a la carte menu (they also have a traditional menu) a selection of their salmon roe (fish eggs) and salmon nigiri both of which were predictably FRESH and melted on the tongue! Also had some of their warm and POTENT saki as well as a glass of Japanese beer brand Sapporo (which is also my fav beer even @ home). The service as always was impeccable. I was lucky enough to get seated and have order in before it got absolutely SLAMMED during the Friday evening rush-hour chaos. Great place for hardcore sushi connoisseurs who value QUALITY over...
Read more2-16-25, my son was just born. My wife sends her brother to go get her a rolls of sushi and I tell her there’s only one place I love when it comes to rolls, so I send the address to her brother and we are on a video call and I hear whoever was at the front ask what does he want, I said practically yelling on the video chat “sushi rolls” cause they have a whole section on the menu dedicated to that, that’s also why I loved them, big variety of rolls in town. Anyways I hear him say rolls and and I said yes give her the numbers 13,16,20,30,33 so these are the numbers that he gives and I assume that we are talking about rolls, fast forward, I end up with 1 of the 5 rolls I requested and everything else pot stickers and octopus? How? So I called them and whoever I got on the other end was so condescending, I hear her holding in her laughter as to turn to someone like they are both giggling, I don’t know how to explain but I’m sure you know when someone is smiling on the other end of a line, well… my wife worked hard to push our third child out and was just craving for sushi rolls and the place that I loved eating from lost my respect and a customer, and it’s not like we were ever important because we are nothing but cash grabs in the system. Thanks sushi.com yall were the top for me but with this experience I don’t think...
