Originally, I had stopped in on a whim after a paint and sip with friends. We were anticipating a Halloween-y curiosity shop but Petunia & Loomis is truly so much more. They have everything from vintage VHS tapes and books to taxidermy and wet specimens and horror-esque antiques. I’ve even overheard Jesse giving instructions on how to care for your wet specimens so they stay beautiful for years to come. Their new space allows for their collection to be spread out for your viewing pleasure, and much more spacious so you can move about the shop without the fear of bumping into something fragile. They have photo ops with Krampus at Christmas and the Easter Bunny around Easter time- both of which are kid friendly, and the person in the costume does not intentionally scare small humans. It is really a joyous atmosphere despite how spooky it is! They always show me the coolest new things they got in. And I enjoy discovering new local artist pieces to take home with me.
