El Mesquite Mexican Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Spring Lake Township

Perfect spot for a Margarita Monday Date night. Quiet enough for a good conversation but it also has a lively atmosphere and a patio. Our Margarita flight was nice, and our server Jasmine was kind enough to help us with flavors.

Our food was great, my Flautas were like fancier taquitos and the chicken and beef inside had good flavor and texture. My wife got spinach enchiladas with poblano sauce and they were the best bite of the night. The poblano sauce was super rich and unlike anything I've really had at a Mexican place around here before.

There are lots of Mexican places nearby, but you should choose to stop here because you won't be disappointed with the atmosphere, the service or the flavors.

Service was prompt, friendly and the menu has a very nice selection of foods. We were a bit surprised being the only ones in the restaurant how long it took to get our food. I was disappointed that my steak meat was dry and lacked any seasoning. My 2 friends also felt their food lacked seasoning and was dry. The only other disappointment was the 3% credit card fee added to the bill. I didn't see anywhere in the restaurant or at the table that this charge would be applied so I could have paid in cash. While a nice new place I just wasn't impressed enough with the food quality and would recommend Arturo's in Grand Haven or Los Amigos in Muskegon over...

We live near San Antonio, so we judge Mexican food based on what we get locally. The atmosphere was very well done. My wife and I split the shrimp enchiladas. They were good. Although I can't say I was a fan of the corn tortillas. Albeit less healthy, I think flour tortillas work better. The salsa was bland. That takes talent. But food is so subjective... We weren't too impressed with our waiter, who forgot to put in our order, so we sat quite a while before getting it. There was no compensation for our wait. If he had made it right somehow, that would have compensated...
