Went to dinner at Bonito Michoacán to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with my family. This place is located on Decatur Boulevard in Vegas. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted by a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere that instantly transports you to Mexico.
The exterior of the building is painted in brilliant shades of blue, red, and yellow, reminiscent of traditional homes in Michoacán. The architecture and color scheme alone set the tone for a culturally rich and authentic experience.
As you step through the large wooden doors, the real magic begins. The interior is beautifully decorated, showcasing meticulous attention to detail. It feels like walking into a charming Mexican town complete with colorful balconies, intricate wall art, and decor that reflects the heart and soul of Mexico. The hand-carved wooden chairs, each painted with traditional scenes of everyday Mexican life, are especially striking.
The service was equally impressive. The hostesses were warm and welcoming, and our waiter was both friendly and hilarious, making our dining experience all the more enjoyable. He was attentive, accommodating, and clearly passionate about ensuring guests have a great time.
The food was excellent. We started with freshly made tableside guacamole, a fun and flavorful touch. The margaritas, available in a variety of flavors like guava, mango, and strawberry, were all delicious and perfectly balanced. For our main courses, we tried the fajitas, tacos, camarones (shrimp), and enchiladas. Each dish was well-prepared, flavorful, and generously portioned.
Overall, this restaurant is a must-visit. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy an authentic Mexican meal in a vibrant setting. I’ll definitely be back — and I can’t think of a better place to celebrate...
Read moreMy family and I have been going to Bonito Michoacan for many years & it's usually pretty decent. Last couple of times not so much. I've ALWAYS ordered a la carte because I don't care for refried beans or mex rice. This last time I was told they no longer do a la carte! So does this mean I have to pay for a full combo meal with just one main item on my plate? Why would a la carte be so difficult that you'd have to take it off the menu? I did end up ordering a couple carne asada tacos and seriously the meat looked like rabbit pellets! Dark, overcooked and hard. I asked my husband to try a piece of the meat and he was shocked that they would serve something like that. The service was TERRIBLE too. And I made a reservation for 6 and asked to please seat us on the side away from the band as the noise is too much for my (older) parents. Even with the reservation when we came in we were told there was no room on that side and we'd have to sit on the band side. What's happening? Why no a la carte? Why if I made a reservation and specifically asked for the non-band side and was told that would be fine but yet when we got there you could not seat us there? Why would you serve meat that was dry, hard, overcooked resembling rabbit pellets? Guess we are going to have to find another mexican food restaurant and gonna be letting my friends know of our experience also because I heard bad reviews from them from their...
Read moreI came here because I passed by last week and seen the parking lot was full, so I decided to try it. The food was actually great, great flavor and everything. However the server I had, Ivonne G, did not have the best attitude. I am pretty understanding, probably more than most. I am also a very good tipper, because I’m in the industry. The one thing I don’t tolerate however is bad service. I could’ve sworn I ordered my daughter a chicken quesadilla, even her father said that is what I ordered. We received an enchilada. Now her father knowing that she does not eat an enchilada, would’ve corrected me if that’s what I ordered, so I’m pretty sure I did. At the same time mistakes happen. Being a restaurant manager, I would never tolerate one of my servers arguing with the guest about what they ordered, especially getting a little aggressive about it and even rolling their neck as they tell me “yes that is what you ordered.” Even if I did make a mistake, help me make it right because I was not being disrespectful. Me being the obvious bigger person, I let it go, and even paid for the enchilada. She did not attempt to make it right, even after seeing my daughter was not eating it.
I would come back, just not with her. I almost didn’t want to eat because of it but the food made up for it so...
