They make it fast! Recommend the $6.47 Banh Mi Thit (Pork) and their $2.50 fried banana. No fuss, local Vietnamese banh mi fast food shop, so we weren't expecting much. Depending on when they sellout, they can close earlier. So I'd recommend calling if you plan to visit late afternoon or evening.
For SoCal banh mi loves, this place is a 3.5 star for being decent. For Vegas, it's a 4 star. Woot woot! Finally a place that is better than my disgruntled local picks...like places that taste like American potato salad, or Lees Sandwiches (A banh mi chain I never thought I'd ever need to ever buy a banh mi again. But that was my SoCal life thinking. Vegas life with the banh mi scene is a desperate situation).
Staff suggested both #1 House and #2 Thit. Their diakon and carrots are not sweetened or even overly sweetened like many other places. $6.47 #1. House Special Bun Mi (cold cut style). I love cold cuts but one isn't for me. $6.47 #6 Bun Mi Thit (pork) is probably the recommended pick. $15 Canh Bun (Vietnamese Water Spinach Noodle Soup). Simple, and clean. I've never had this before. The soup isn't as think as my 1 experience with Bun Rieu at a different restaurant. The broth here was light, but I didn't really get much seafood infused taste. Nonetheless, I would reorder this again if craving comfort night soup. Takeout to heat at home, or eat there. $2.50 Fried Banana. Yum! You'd think it'd be soggy or spongy but it wasn't. It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It wasn't overly sweet either.
I may be interested to try next time -- $11 Chao Long (Pork Offal Congee). $6.47 #6 Bun Mi Thit (pork) to confirm if consistency is still the same. $2.50 Fried Banana again because I love pastry like desserts.
This place reminds me of typical casual take out Vietnamese food like banh mi, fried snacks, and quick food to go. The staff speaks English. Takes credit card. 2 small tables here but it's more...
Read moreI have a very bad experience with this Sandwiches. On May 22 2015, I stop by there buy some junk food , some breads on the way home to LA. I bought some cake-they baked them, then cut pieces, put in the foam then wrapped with clear plastic, put it outside not in the cooler. I bought 2 baked cakes $3.00 per cakes so I paid $6.00 plus a lots of different food. My parents went with me, togther we go to visit my sister who lives in Las Vagas. My parents are in the age 84 years old, they ate those cakes,my dad said it tasted no good, He put it down, my mom did not hear what he said so she also ate it. Then she let me know, tell me to try it, again it tasted so weird. I tasted, my parent right. I have no idea how long the owner left those food outside, they may over sale some food leftover from the day before, who know I came back let them know what happen, aks to exchange for something to replace those rotten food.. The husband who owner Dakao shop, sounded like I talked crazy things to him, he call his wife out to deal with me. When his wife came out, I explained to her what happen, she denied right away to exchange or refund money for me. She said because I leaved in the car so the result for those food not her problem. She said as long as the food out of her shop she did not respond the those food. I felt furstrated because my 84 years old got hurt stomach when they were in the car with me 5 hours driving back home. I left with very upset, unhappy, emotional. I will call Health Department in Nevada who have to come to inspect this shop, to avoid them sell old, rotten food for customer, get real money but sell them very not qualify food . Please do more research before to stop here to spend your money smart not...

Every time I travel to a different city, I scope out the banh mi places because banh mi is my favorite and it's comfort food to me. As always, I turn to Yelp to steer me in the right direction but this time it led me astray. Las Vegas is home to a lot of great restaurants and food places so I figured it would be a piece of cake to find a solid banh mi joint. Dakao Sandwiches missed the mark.
The bread was pretty okay and I believe they bake them fresh in house. The filling was sad. Barely any meat, hardly any pickled veggies...the only things they put enough of were cilantro, jalapenos and cucumber. Where is the PATE? Where is the BO (butter/mayo)? Maybe it would have been okay if the meats were actually tasty but I was kind of iffy about those too. Very disappointing sandwiches. I got the banh mi thit nguoi (combination cold cuts) and banh mi thit nuong (grilled pork) and didn't care for either one of them. I actually ordered an extra banh mi to take with me on my flight home but I ended up throwing it out. I hate wasting food but this was a...
