One Piece Cafe — Restaurant in Spring Valley

The One-Piece Cafe is an amazing experience! Especially if you are a One-Piece fan, or even just a fan of anime in general. Having attended anime cafes in Japan, this cafe provides that very authentic and passionate feeling of the source material. In my opinion it captures One Piece in a highly creative and original way. It does not feel like a cash grab or knock off creation. As of now it is a soft launch so many items are unavailable on the Menu. I have heard from some people that items are sold out as well. I came about thirty minutes before opening and was able to order a nice variety of desserts. The desserts were pricy, but I felt that the creativity and quality does earn the price tag to a certain extent. Especially since its nearly impossible to find cafes that create quality anime desserts and products here in the United States. I do think that if you are in the Vegas area you should stop here. From the strip it was about a 15-minute drive. The prices will deter people, but it also depends on what you order as well. If you are an anime fan, I highly recommend coming here if you are in Vegas!

Food: As mentioned, a lot of the food is unavailable, but they do have quite a few of the desserts available. Every cake we got was placed in a nice and aesthetic one piece box. Every cake was tasty and fresh. Every cake had a unique filling inside which made each dessert unique. Also, the designs of each cake were creatively different. My personal favorite was the Gum Gum Fruit Cake! It had a denser shell, which made it more durable and served as a bowl that held the cake inside. I am not sure what filling was inside, but possibly raspberry, it tasted amazing. The Gum Gum Fruit Cake did not make me a gum human, so that was a big downside and letdown. I also noticed the Chopper cake had a dense shell as well which also makes it look nicer for longer periods of time. We were able to bring a Chopper cake for our friend back to California, and it was still in decent condition when arriving home. Overall, great desserts with awesome flavors! We ended up ordering five desserts and two drinks. It did come out to a staggering $120, which is quite a bit, but as mentioned previously it is difficult to find an Anime Cafe of this quality in the United States. That said, it can be cheaper, but then again, I feel that most anime fans will disregard the price tag for the experience.

Service: The service was very memorable. Right when we arrived the staff was very friendly and hospitable. Despite it being terribly busy, the worker gave us plenty of time to look over the Menu and ask questions. Since there are not tons of information available as of now, we asked the employee what they recommended. The employee was able to provide us with many recommendations and information on what we were ordering. I also never felt pressured by the employees to leave or rush out, which was nice. They also were able to get all our orders out in just a few minutes which was awesome.

Atmosphere: This cafe is well designed and authentic to the One-Piece anime! When you walk in, there are pictures of the characters and a variety of merchandise like Luffy's Hat! So Cool! They also have multiple murals that have the characters and anime fonts, titles, etc. What is neat is the desserts are on display in the glass, so it guides what you are looking for and what to expect. Especially since most die-hard anime fans will want to get a dessert of their favorite character or item. The cafe does play One Piece themed music, but when there I did also hear Sukuna's Theme song from Jujutsu Kaisen. This is not an issue for me, but I thought it was interesting. Having attended anime cafes like Pokemon Cafe and Kirby Cafe, this place captures the anime atmosphere and experience. Right when you walk in it has a good vibe that is hard to capture in cafes or restaurants.

When I went to the One Piece Café on October 5th, 2024, to celebrate my best friend’s birthday, the experience left a lasting positive impression on me. It was my first time going to the One Piece Café, so I wasn’t sure what to expect when I walked through that front door. When I did, it looked as though I stepped into a party room designed around the show. It was much smaller than I was expecting, but what the establishment lacked in size, it made up for in novelty charm. There wasn’t a single part of the restaurant that didn’t have One Piece merchandise or themed decorations. I especially loved the mural on the far wall of the café which depicted all the members of the straw-hat pirates. When it came to ordering, we ordered at the front desk first, then we sat ourselves at an empty table. There were also some standing tables near the mural of the straw-hat pirates, but a little closer to the entrance were an arrangement of diner-style booths. The staff members were friendly and fun to interact with. The way they talked about the show made them feel like they were just as big fans as the patrons were. Part of me was expecting there to be some cosplayers dressing up as the straw-hat pirates and interacting with guests, but my best friend made up for that lack with his cosplay of Monkey D. Luffy. The food itself was ready in a timely manner, and they brought it to us when we gave them our buzzer. For my first time, I ordered the Mighty Meats Pirate Platter (the most expensive thing on the menu at $30), and it was amazing. The sausage brought back fond memories of sausage dinners I had with my grandparents and went well with the provided dipping sauces (it was the only thing I could dip in as the other meats were coated in sauce). The beef skewer could’ve been better. It was still a delicious skewer, but its small size and lower quality of beef caused it to get overshadowed by the other meats. The two beef ribs (or what looked and tasted like beef ribs) were cooked to perfection. There were some parts that were hard to chew, but it didn’t dampen my enjoyment of the two ribs. The star of the platter was the chicken lollipop. I love fried chicken legs, and I love Asian style chicken. That chicken leg tasted like the best of both worlds with the breading adding an extra layer of flavor and texture. I also loved the side of rice, but I’ve always loved rice regardless of how it’s cooked and prepared, so my feedback on the rice is going to be unreliable. For the dessert course, I ordered Big Mom's mini chocolate mousse cake, which tasted extraordinary. It looked beautiful with its pink outer layer of frosting, and the candy skull on top. The chocolate cake was delicate, and the chocolate mousse gave the small cake an added layer of luxury. I just wish that there was a gluten free variety of that chocolate cake so my mom, who loves chocolate cake, could indulge. The café was also exceptionally clean. The staff was constantly sanitizing tables between customers, and the bathrooms were also clean. I loved my experience at the One Piece Café, and they gave my best friend a great venue for his birthday celebration. If you’re an anime fan, and you are passing through Las Vegas Chinatown, I recommend stopping by this hidden gem of a restaurant.
