BBQ King — Restaurant in Spring Valley

1st time there after seeing them on Facebook. I would have given out 1 star for poor service but another waitress stepped in. My husband was excited to try their brisket. We sit and start reviewing the menu which has so many dishes, some I recognized many I didn't. This is a good thing I think. Until the waitress gets to us. My husband ordered their bbq plate which is a side of rice and your choice of 3 meats. He asks for pork belly, and brisket to which she interrupts and says "no no no, no brisket" her tone sounded angry, so my husband says oh well I wanted to try the brisket, but ok I'll try the pork and she interrupts again and says "you already say that" like she's in a rush and the place is only a quarter full. He asks what his options are and she says "pork, chicken, duck" My husband asks for bbq chicken again she snaps at his with"no no bbq chicken, you want steam chicken, soy chicken what you want" I guess be ended up ordering soy chicken, duck and pork belly. This b*%# was rude. There was a table close by and one of the girls was watching and snickering at the situation. I actually wanted to leave at that point. My husband was red, his face was flushed. We get our food and realize we hadn't ordered drinks nor was it something she asked. Like I said she seemed rushed. So my husband is like, I don't want to talk to her and another waitress passes and stops and asks us if we want forks cause we're struggling w the chop sticks. My hubby says "yes please and water" she brings us the items and he tells her how we're not familiar w the menu and pretty much what just happened, she explained the menu to him and he got his brisket ordered. She ended up taking over and I'm so glad she did. I thought maybe the other lady was having a bad day but then a young Asian couple came in, she was smiling ear to ear with them, and then was joking with another Asian table. I don't know.. it was just suspicious... The food was good, if you all go request the lady with the long hair, no glasses. This post should be about the food, but I hope they realize that customer service came make or break...

Came to eat here specifically for a roasted duck craving. I don't usually ever leave low reviews but it wasn't that great of an experience.

I will start with what went well first.. the service was great. The waitresses were attentive and kind. The restaurant was clean and tables were clean as well. The FLAVOR of the food was good. More on that later..

What didn't go well... Again, came specifically for the roasted duck. Also got a 3 meat combination BBQ platter, and a chicken fried rice to share with my beloved.

All the food came out within 5 minutes of us being seated, which points to it all being cooked earlier and reheated throughout the day. For the prices, it should be relatively fresh. (Duck was $21 for half, and 3 meat combo was $29) That is way too fast, especially for things that are meant to be crispy, roasted and bbq'd. Which led to the food being very cold. Not hot at all. Duck was cold to the touch. This sucked because the flavor was good! The only thing hot was the fried rice.

We ended up only staying for about 10-15 mins after getting our food. Got everything packed to go and ended up putting them in our convection oven at home to get it hot and crispy. When we did that, the food was really great. Taste is wonderful and the duck was juicy.

I hope it was a one off experience. I was really looking forward to enjoying true crispy roasted duck and did not get it for what we paid ($76). We came at 7p on a Saturday night, they close at 9p so we definitely had enough time to enjoy the food had it been properly heated through. When fresh, I am sure everything is...

Fulfillment alert........You know when you're looking for a food fix and you think of pork crackling you wonder where could I get some, it's usually not the first thing you think of and definitely something you didn't know you missed the taste of. BBQ KING has the absolute best pork I have ever tasted before. the flavor is so good the texture is perfect, its so nice and juicy with lots of meat to enjoy and the crackling has you crunching and munching away. The price is reasonable for the pork I feel the price for duck could be a little cheaper only because I'm used to paying 18 bucks back home, lower the price and I'll try it out. But it could be hard to get so I could see where the price comes from. We come about once a month and it has not disappointed us at all and actually me and pops are quick to open it up and enjoy a few pieces before the drive home I am so glad we found this gem so whomever the guy was that recommended this place you sir are a genius. Thank you guys for making such a great meal. Keep it up and we'll...
