Ooooh Weeee, this is some tasty BBQ! Easily the best food truck food I've tried since living in Las Vegas. My wife and I have been to those foodie fest events and other local events with food trucks but the food they have is usually overpriced and 'meh' when it comes to flavor. So we were pleasantly surprised when we tried Monti's
First off, they have photos of food! My wife is a very visual person so looking at tasty photos of food vs reading a description always makes it easier. She normally pulls out here phone and looks at photos on Yelp to make her decision, but didn't have to this time.
While photos made it easier to see what the food looked like we still had a difficult time deciding since everything looked so good! We ultimately went with the Monti sandwich, Tupac fries and special 'Trigger' style mac n cheese (Mac n Cheese with bbq baked beans and pulled pork, yeah it's amazeballs!).
-Monti sandwich: Holy moly this sandwich was good! I've tried other Cuban sandwiches in the past but this one is the best. Melty cheese, crunchy bread, juicy meats, mustard, chimichurri and homemade pickles. I hate pickles and normally pull them out of my sandwiches and burgers but I ate all of these ones!
-Tupac fries: These were sooooo good. I love the seasoned fries they use and the toppings are the icing on the cake. Try not to eat all of them I dare you. The avocado crema and cotija cheese are a nice finish.
-Mac n Cheese: Forget all about your blue box blues. Man o man, I've had a lot of mac n cheese in my lifetime but damn this has raised the bar. They make their own cheese sauce! I mean c'mon who else does that? Order them 'Trigger style' (add bbq beans and pulled pork) for the ultimate mac n cheese taste bud explosion.
From the staff to the food, everything was on point. They make everything here from scratch and you can tell when you taste the food. I will definitely be back to tackle more of the menu, I have a lot more items to try. Also, we just found out they have a spot inside Legends Sports Bar on Boulder Highway. Which means now I can eat some tasty BBQ and have a nice cold beer with it, the...
Read moreI cannot possibly say enough good things about Ryan and company. These guys catered my wedding in October 2019. Our ceremony was about 45min-1hr drive from Las Vegas and they seemed genuinely excited to get to drive their truck all the way out there. I found them by accident searching for a good vendor and after seeing their offerings on their website, I decided to fill out their “contact me” form. From the very first conversation I had with Ryan on the phone, I knew under no circumstances should I even bother looking at any other vendors. They came up with a custom menu that sounded AMAZING at a price that was even better.
Payment was an absolute breeze. And the day of the ceremony, things got behind schedule so I had to ask them to hold off arrival by about 30 minutes. These guys were so accommodating, they literally sat in a gas station parking lot waiting for us to be ready. When they arrived to the venue, we were greeted like old friends despite never having met them before.
But the food...holy effing poop. The food was utterly amazing. The brisket made me a better man and the mac and cheese saved my soul. Seriously. That mac and cheese is the best thing I have ever had. The chicken was moist and their salsa verde made me want to hire Nick Cage to try to steal the recipe. I’m not a corn bread guy and only asked for it to be on the menu because my wife wanted it. I’m glad I’m smart enough to listen to her. I have never tasted such good corn bread. Ever. And I know I’ve already talked about the mac and cheese, but, seriously...go buy it. Go buy a lot of it.
Since the wedding, everyone has been telling me how much fun these guys were. They gave nicknames to everyone when they ordered. They cracked jokes with us and were insanely personable. Thats got to be hard to do when feeding 100+ people at a wedding.
The work they put in, the perfection that was our dinner and the amount of fun they brought to our wedding was something I can not begin to thank them for. If you are considering them for your event, don’t hesitate to book them. They work HARD to make sure...
Read moreWe chose Ryan and the Monti Smokehouse team to cater our small desert wedding in the Valley of Fire. We are not local to Las Vegas and his team was recommended by our wedding planner. When I first spoke to Ryan about our vision for the food, I wanted basically a tapas menu with 10 different things because my husband and I love just ordering appetizers. When I tell you that Ryan and his team absolutely delivered, I mean it. He took my vision and ran with it and it was the best decision we made hiring them! Not only was the team amazing and so kind and professional, the service and presentation was perfect and exactly what we envisioned! The menu was SPOT ON and so perfect! Serving the meal family style on platters at the table was Ryan’s idea and it just tied in so well with our reception vision!
Now on to the food…that was hands down the best food I’ve ever had at a wedding and I’m not exaggerating. I’ve had multiple guests text me raving about how amazing their food was! The brisket mac n cheese egg rolls with the homemade ranch was FIRE. the steak crostini with the pickled onions - FIRE. The pan seared dumplings, chicken skewers, garlic shrimp, hot honey feta, like literally EVERY single thing they put out was FIRE. and we still can’t get over how 2 people were able to whip up all that goodness in a food truck in the middle of the desert AND serve our guests passed appetizers, like my mind is seriously blown. The flavors of everything were bomb - everything was cooked to perfection! If you’re looking for a caterer with amazing food and service you NEED to hire Monti’s!!
Thank you so much again, you truly made our wedding memorable and enjoyable and I can guarantee you we, along with our guests, will be talking about your food years later!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
