Not the best, not the worst but the broth was flavorful and didn't make us feel like crap (that's high praise for Vegas). A decent pho place in Vegas worth the price ($16.99 Pho large). The meats to noodles were decent. The broth is different from the savoy taste we are accustomed to.

If you're coming to Socal, then you need to lower your expectation for this place. Also understand Vegas doesn't have overall good Taiwanese, Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese (Canto, typical non-spicy). But for Vegas, this is as good as it gets.

P2. Special Combo $16.99 was decent. The broth was a little sweeter but tasteful. They give a good decent amount of meat. We would order this again.

C3. Grilled Pork Chop w/ Shredded pork and Egg Meatloaf $15.99 was okay? SO didn't like it cause the pork chop want good. But better than other Vegas places. Comes with a bowl of soup which is a bit salty than pho broth.

The curry, beef stew, egg crepe looks good! Everyone around seems to get the curry.

Staff: For the Asian culture and casual restaurants, service quality isn't a must....but the food is. Nothing wrong with new staff or staff learning but theres also staff who just don't listen. Listening is different from just nodding yes and not understanding. It didn't seem like the typical language barrier. It was a combination of language barrier with someone who isn't attentive. She wasn't trying to be rude. She did smile with each request. If you get this staff, just talk to a different staff who can fully understand...or else you may be subjected to getting extra orders by accident. This didn't affect my stars...

What makes a great satisfying bowl of Pho Dac Biet?

Glad to see Vegas having more and more Vietnamese restaurants, and their standards are getting much better. A requisite for any good pho place is the plate of herbs they brought out for your pho. Minimum is the raw bean sprouts (other part of the world some customers actually prefer cooked sprouts because of local substandard water sanitation); sliced jalapeno peppers, Thai basil and lime (not lemon). In addition if I see the familiar Huy Fong brand (red rooster) sriracha and perhaps Lee Kum Kee Hoisin sauce, I'm a happy camper.

To win the other half of the battle of course is the pho itself. In this case the classic combo pho (pho Dac Biet) in any Vietnamese pho place that's any good.

The BROTH is the soul. It takes the right kind of meat, bones, herbs etc and hours of slow cooking to create the marvelous broth where a skilled cook will put in rice noodles that's cooked properly and assembled with different cut of cooked and rare sliced beefs, beef balls, tripes, sliced white onions etc.

The piping hot noodles are presented and individual can taylor their bowls with condiments and herbs to their liking.

This place passed all the tests with flying colors and the rest is just gravy.

Service was efficient, place was decently clean, price was norm for Vegas-$10.50 before tax and tips for a large satisfying bowl anytime of the year. But it's especially great for this visit as it was chilly and...

I would put a lower score, but this place was special to me. I would go with my family quite often on the weekends, and we loved how delicious the food was. The service was very good. Was. What changed? We went this weekend (after a while of not going there) and a boy had his mask down. His nose was sticking out the whole time. Not only that, but he was very quick, almost like he wanted to just finish with us to go to the next table. My mom told the guy to put his mask on, and he said, "ok, sorry, it just keeps falling off." He put it on and left. We then saw him tending to other tables, again with the mask down. He came with my parent's food, breathing over it without a mask. At this point, we were just upset. My dad got up and told another guy who worked there (he had taken our order well other times) and told him that the person who took our order didn't have his mask on right. He told the guy to put his mask on, but he didn't put it on. He kept breathing on all the food. In the end, one of the people from the kitchen gave us the rest of our food, which had lowered in quality. Not only that, but it seemed someone they knew was eating there. He went back into the kitchen, WITHOUT A MASK. NO MASK AT ALL. He was speaking over all the food and I was just disgusted. No one told him anything, they just laughed in the kitchen. One of the cooks even lowered their mask to talk. I don't think we'll be returning unless they change...

Sidestreet Pho & Grill has been a staple for my girlfriend, who has dined here over 30 times. But after this visit, we both left wondering if the magic had faded. While the food had its moments, the inconsistency and service left a bad taste in our mouths—something even the best pho can’t fix. The shrimp spring rolls were absolute perfection. Fresh, tightly wrapped, and bursting with flavor. But then came the peanut sauce, which was as bland as an unsalted cracker dipped in water. It didn’t do those rolls justice, and we found ourselves wishing for a little spice, salt, or really anything to save it. The rare beef pho? Phenomenal. A hearty broth that was rich and flavorful, with perfectly tender beef slices. If you come here just for this, you might leave happy. But unfortunately, my girlfriend’s tofu pho was an entirely different story. You know what makes tofu pho special? The tofu. You know what they didn’t include in hers? The tofu. And then there’s the service—or lack thereof. This was my third visit, and I’ve never had high expectations for their attentiveness, but this was something else. We had to ask three separate times for silverware. Three. For a place my girlfriend has raved about for years, this was a major letdown. What’s baffling is that the management hasn’t changed. So why has the experience taken such a hit? Sidestreet used to be her go-to, but now it’s clear that consistency is no longer their strong suit.
