Dining at The George at Durango Casino is an experience that tantalizes the senses and satisfies the most discerning palates. Nestled within the vibrant ambiance of Durango Casino, The George distinguishes itself with an eclectic menu that promises a culinary adventure, set against an upbeat, sports-centric backdrop.

Upon entry, guests are greeted by a lively atmosphere, accentuated by dozens of screens broadcasting various games, making it an ideal spot for sports enthusiasts. The adjacent sports book enhances this vibe, offering a fresh and comfortable space for guests to indulge in their gambling pursuits while enjoying exquisite meals.

The food at The George is a testament to culinary excellence. The chicken corn chowder starter sets a high bar, with a richness and depth of flavor that surpasses even the renowned version at the Grand Californian Hotel. It's so hearty and fulfilling that it could easily stand as an entree on its own.

Moving on to the appetizers, the pretzel charcuterie board offers a delightful array of tastes and textures, perfectly complementing the array of beverages available. However, it's the truffle fries that truly steal the show in the appetizer lineup. These crispy delights, paired with a sumptuous truffle aioli, are a must-try for anyone visiting.

The main courses offer a diverse selection, from the perfectly seared scallops to the luxurious tomahawk steak, each dish is prepared with meticulous care. The halibut, although slightly overdone, showcases the kitchen's ambition, hinting that a slight tweak in cooking time could elevate it to perfection. Meanwhile, the risotto with its generous helping of mushrooms and robust flavor profile, and the expertly cooked pork chop with its vibrant chili rub, are clear indicators of The George's commitment to quality and flavor.

The ambiance of The George is equally commendable. It strikes a harmonious balance between elegance and casual comfort, making it suitable for both special occasions and casual outings. The upbeat atmosphere, combined with the sports-centric theme, ensures that there's never a dull moment.

Service at The George is impeccable, with staff going above and beyond to ensure guests feel welcome and valued. This level of attention to detail in both service and culinary execution makes The George at Durango Casino a standout dining destination.

In conclusion, The George at Durango Casino offers an exceptional dining experience that is sure to impress. From its diverse and expertly crafted menu to its vibrant ambiance and stellar service, it's a place that invites you to return time and again. Whether you're there to catch a game, enjoy a leisurely meal, or simply soak in the atmosphere, The George promises an...

We stopped in for lunch at The George, located inside the stylish new Durango Casino & Resort in Las Vegas and it did not disappoint. This isn’t your average sports bar. The George is a unique Sports & Entertainment Lounge that seamlessly blends the classic charm of vintage Vegas with modern flair. It’s the perfect spot where high quality food, drinks, sports, and entertainment converge under one roof. Here, as their slogan goes, anyone can be a George.

The name and concept are a clever homage to the tradition of calling generous tippers ā€œa Georgeā€, a nod to the face on the one dollar bill. Created by Jonathan Fine, CEO and founder of FINE Entertainment Management, in collaboration with Station Casinos, The George sits next to the STN Sportsbook and offers both an energetic indoor dining room and a sleek, covered patio surrounded by wrap around LED screens. It’s a great space for watching sports, enjoying live entertainment, or hosting private events. Sports betting kiosks are also conveniently located inside the lounge, adding another layer of excitement. Even better, The George is open 24/7.

The ambiance was outstanding. From the black and white striped awnings and umbrellas at the entrance to the cozy, stylish indoor/outdoor seating, everything felt thoughtfully curated. We sat in the enclosed patio area, which was cool and comfortable. Large TVs broadcasted a variety of games, and the decor struck a nice balance between sporty and chic, with touches like hanging greenery and modern wall art that added warmth and personality.

Service was excellent, friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Our server accommodated all of our requests with a smile and never missed a beat.

We started with the Triple Berry Mojito, which was just okay, refreshing but underwhelming in flavor. However, the food more than made up for it. We ordered a variety of dishes: the BLT, a classic burger, shrimp appetizer, truffle fries, and a salmon salad. Every dish was cooked to perfection, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in both quality and consistency.

Despite the mediocre mojito, I’m giving The George a solid five out of five stars. The overall experience from the welcoming ambiance and exceptional service to the delicious food was truly fantastic. Whether you’re a Vegas local or just visiting, The George is a great spot for a relaxed but elevated meal with a sports...

Talk about a major disappointment of a restaurant. We made reservations days in advance for dinner with an indoor table on Christmas Day. When we got there no tables were available. They then told us that if we wanted a table we would have to sit outside (and promised there would be heaters). The hostess proceeded to ā€œmake sure that the table outside is ready.ā€ When she came back she then ignored us and welcomed and seated groups who had walked up in the meantime. When they finally sat us at our table there was no heaters whatsoever for our area. It took twenty minutes to be acknowledged by staff once seated. They then took drink orders and didn’t ask if we wanted to order appetizers nor our mains. Eventually another server came around and took our food orders. We asked about the lack of heaters since they were promised and our table was freezing on this 36° night. The manager did come over fairly quickly to ā€œremedyā€ this, however the best he could do was point two heaters from multiple tables over in our general direction. This did nothing to improve our discomfort. By the time our food came it was mostly cold. Had it been warmer it would have probably tasted ok, it was just unacceptable. To add insult to injury, one of us ordered the hot honey fried chicken Mac and cheese. There was only four tiny chicken nuggets on there, and for the price this is asinine. No one refilled our water, and no one asked us if we wanted to order any dessert or more drinks. We had virtually no contact from staff other than when we made our first drink and main order, and then when the bill came. Another issue to note is that although this is a sports bar restaurant, the sound system is incredibly loud. We had to basically scream at each other to have a conversation with others at our table. This was a huge disappointment of a restaurant, especially on a holiday. It has so much potential, but it’s obvious the staff just doesn’t really care. No apologies, no attention, and poorly ran. The management needs to really take a step back and figure out how to tighten up the ship. Don’t let your staff force a pre-booked group into seating that they didn’t reserve and promise heaters on one of the coldest nights of the year. Doubt I’d ever come back, let alone recommend to...

It's new and pretty like a new shiny toy. Let's begin with the reservation. I arrived 5 mins early and thinking my friends were seated already, I went on the search. 3 people at hostess table and they all looked confused and stressed. The atmosphere was great once you walk through into the main area. Bar with gaming machines, then sliding doors passed a few tables that leads into a bigger dining, sports watching area. All the furniture and surroundings is bright and light colored. Bartenders beyond the sliding doors are fantastic and nice. I couldn't tell you about the main bar, I didn't sit there . Let's talk about the reservation. Set for 6:30 and seated just after 7pm. Hostess was nice. The table has a 2 hour limit which you normally see at a ladies bottomless brunch. This wasn't that moment. Normally 2 hours would be great amount of time, however , it took almost 15 mins to get drinks, another 10 to get food ordered and then bam! There goes an hour. The food arrives. We now have 30 mins to eat. Girls talk a lot and sometimes 2 hours isn't enough. Maybe because it's new? Our waiter although nice was extremely distracted. At a certain point we felt like waving our hands to get focus. Thank goodness he was nice. Food! Delicious. Well made , no frills, tasty. Made up for all the other nonsense. If you like trying new things, go. If you don't like waiting long(even with a reservation), or overpaying for drinks and having waiters that don't pay attention. Wait until it's less new. The food is delicious and a little overpriced for what it is. Remember it's Vegas and a brand new casino with expensive decor. Then eat your food with gusto. It is delicious.
