3.5 stars.
I'd been waiting for this restaurant to open after hearing this well-known Seattle "sullungtang" place was coming to town.
So last night, I finally went. The location is new and clean.
The Sullungtang is really quite good. The broth is rich and flavorful as I'd expect and it has a varied selection of meats if you order the "combination." For those that can't handle more interesting (delicious) cuts of meat, order the "brisket sullungtang." It comes with glass noodles and oddly, it's served with purple rice instead of white rice. We weren't even asked if we wanted a different kind of rice, so maybe it's all they had, or this is normal here. The amount of meat in the soup is quite skimpy.
I don't know what their WA location does so I can't compare, but this place also offers no self-serve green onions or what is customarily known as "dadaegi," a spicy garlic concoction you can opt to put in this soup. Strange.
We also had the dumplings. They were fine.
The most important thing at any sullungtang location is, aside from the taste of the sullungtang, is the radish kimchi. It was the first thing I tasted when the banchan came out and... it's good. KK's first comment was, "It tastes like yours."
Damn right it does!
So then why four stars?
The service here is REALLY subpar, guys! I don't know if they are bad employees or work for a terrible manager but they're not welcoming when you enter, not pleasant when taking an order, and not even polite about saying thank you, or goodbye.
What the hell. I don't know if this crap passes in Seattle but this is not okay in Vegas.
Additionally, as we walked up to pay, since no one even came to check on us or give us a check, I noticed another menu advertising galbijjim and something else. I asked what that menu was, and the guy tells me it's a menu. (Thanks.) I asked why we hadn't received this menu and his response was, "Oh. You didn't?"
TF? That's it? No "Sorry," or any explanation?
Ugh. Disappointing.
Can’t wait to go to LA so I can have some of my Hanbat...

Korean here and I took my family for an early dinner around 4:30 today. We were the only ones here the entire time.
Service was non-existent. Our bowls had pieces of old dried rice as well as kimchi. No biggie, it happens. When I informed the waitress, she didn't apologize. I took my kids to the bathroom and there was no toilet paper. Kimchi and kkakduggi were both bland. You would think a sulleongtang restaurant would have decent kimchi...The yookgaejang we ordered had NO meat. I pointed this out to the waitress and she said "oh, you're right." Took it back and came with a few pieces of meat on top. No apology. She was one of the worst waitresses I’ve encountered here in Vegas. And the “meat” they added after I told them there was none…it wasn't even the correct meat for yookgaejang. What does that show me? They truly don't care. My kids were the ones that said the meat pieces were tough and rubbery and when I tried it, they were right. I didn't say anything because at this point everything was just going downhill and we all couldn’t wait to leave. The waitress NEVER came to our table once to check on us even though we were the only customers.
Will not be coming here again and will definitely not recommend to our friends which is a shame because we love supporting Korean restaurants in our community. I don't think they will last long considering Tang Tang Tang and Moobongri are only a few blocks away and so much better in every way (food AND service).
Update: I called them as that’s what they requested after my review and guess what? They were like “who is this? I don’t know what you’re calling about.” Wow. Shows that their responses are...
Read moreIf you’re craving comforting and flavorful Korean beef soup, Yi’s is worth checking out. Located in Las Vegas, this is the brand new outpost of their original location in Federal Way, WA. Having visited the Federal Way location multiple times in the past, we were excited to try their Vegas spot.
The food here is top-notch. We ordered the traditional Korean beef soup, and it was delicious—rich, savory, and deeply flavorful with tender beef and a perfectly balanced broth. The soup was served piping hot, just the way it should be, and came with an assortment of classic sides (banchan) that complemented the main dish beautifully. Each bite felt like a warm, satisfying hug—comfort food at its finest.
The pricing is slightly on the higher end compared to some of the other local Korean spots, but it's within a reasonable range for the quality of food you're getting. It’s clear that the ingredients are fresh, and the preparation is done with care.
One thing to note, however, is the lighting inside: it’s a bit on the bright side, which takes away from the cozy vibe you might expect from a traditional Korean restaurant. It would be great if they could dim it down a little to create a more relaxing atmosphere, especially for evening dining.
As for the service, it was excellent. This is a brand-new restaurant, and despite being freshly opened, the staff were incredibly attentive and friendly. They made sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing.
Overall, Yi’s brings the flavors of traditional Korean cuisine to Las Vegas with care and authenticity. While the lighting could use a tweak, the food and service is great. If you’ve visited their Federal Way location or are simply a fan of great Korean beef soup, I highly recommend checking them out—definitely a solid addition to the local...
