The food was awesome but their customer service sucked. I walked in and was not greeted, possibly because I was the only African American in the building at the moment. I only noticed because the white customers whom were leaving out were told to have a great day and come again. I was not told to come again or have a great day as well. That made me feel some type of way. When I walked in 2 guys were finishing up on 1 male customer. You would think someone would have told me, someone will be right with you, but they both continued right on ignoring me. Your only allowed 2 toppings which I found was odd because if I'm paying for it what does it matter? I was handed my food onto the counter like I was a dog waiting on my owner to feed me from a dog bowl and then asked would I like a bag? Why would I not want a bag? I also ordered pita bread that's not wrapped all the way, half of it sticks out of the too small bag, so would I want my pita bread to be exposed to the air and people breathing, that I'm supposed to be eating? I told the guy it was my 1st time there and he did not do a great job of making me feel welcome or explaining things, seems like he didn't want to be bothered. He gave more short brief answers because he was more intuned on focusing on waiting on the white lady who was next in line after me and explaining to her how he was sorry and for her to give him a moment after waiting on me. I was rushed into making my decisions due to this. My overall visit was not that pleasing. I hope the manager reads this and helps his employees work on their people skills and treating each and every customer equal. We're all paying customers no matter what race, color, or creed, sexual orientation etc....this store left me with a bad memory. Possibly I will wait a while before I patronize this particular location again, hoping those 2 guys doesn't work there anymore, and I definitely will not recommend my friends and Co workers to this location. I deserve some sort of apology or explanation for...
Read moreCava came strongly recommended to us by a food friend and it did not disappoint. It was described as a Mediterranean "Chipotle", and I think that's fair. You can build a bowl, which will eat like a hearty salad, or a pita which is a little more like a sandwich/burrito. So, with that in mind, Cava felt like a very familiar experience, even if there were unfamiliar ingredients. There are several "chef curated" choices with set ingredients you can customize, or you can just move down the line and ask for a little of this and a little of that. The pricing structure is based on what you choose for your bowl, but it was a pretty reasonable ticket for two people, around $30. I tried the lemon chicken bowl, and my wife built her own. My food was delicious and I happily finished the whole thing. While my wife enjoyed hers, it proved to be too much food for her. They have an eclectic mix of sodas and juices that are all the same price as a fountain drink. I mixed a little strawberry citrus juice in with some unsweet tea and that was fantastic. I would recommend giving Cava a try and don't be afraid to eat something you haven't tried before. The "Right Rice" looks particularly healthy and I believe you could eat a very diet conscious meal here pretty easily. We came in right at dinner time, during a long rush, and the staff (though a bit harried) were very helpful and friendly for our first experience. Incredibly efficient and we were handed our food at the cash register, so this would be a great spot for a short lunch break or quick dinner. I'm eager to go back and try...
