I must type this as LOUD as possible; they have two pancake makers that work! OMG...thats news in it own. Now I must admit; you guys almost lost me after one location front desk clerk lied and told me the pancake makers are working. I asked a couple times and even asked if someone was available to check, because I wouldn't have booked a room. She assured me it was working. I trusted her then booked the room. Later that night around my bedtime; I couldn't find a parking spot besides the two handicap spots (mind you; I am a disabled Veteran with DV license plates along with the decals on my driver's license). I rarely park in those spots; due to how my manners. I think of my elders and people with more severe disabilities. Anyhoot...I asked the overnight security person; "is it okay if I park in one of those handicap spots?" He said yes; I'm here all night, plus you have DV plates. I tend to forget; because I rarely use those spots. The next morning I'm elated to wake up early for my pancakes. (My last two stays there; the pancake makers didn't work). Psst! I actually started this hotel journey with "Holiday Inn Express" mainly for the pancakes. Even though they could be a bit more on the fluffy side; but that's a comment for the designers of that machine. Okay. Back to the review/story... OH NOOOOO! WTFrank! The pancake machine did not work and the other food items were under par. Then I was going to do the unthinkable; go get breakfast at the nearest fast food place and I thought McDonald's has pancakes. (I was upset from being lied to and spending money). OH NOOOOO! My car got towed. WTFrank! Can it get any worse; you ask. Yes it did. (I'm going through a divorce, I'm having a financial hardship, I'm living with my mother and two siblings, and I've been sleeping at "Holiday inn express" periodically; to get a piece of mind). It took a few hours to locate my vehicle; only to find out it was towed to the dealer. I was only one month behind because of my finances and it was a lemon. My mother ended up coming get me to bring me to the dealership to pay for last payment, this coming payment, and fees for towing; so I thought. Ended up getting the police called on me and leaving with no vehicle. I said to myself; "what a wonderful world". Nope. I said; This is the most expensive pancake I never had and I will never stay at this establishment again... Until I inquired if the pancake maker at this location was operable and was able to check for myself. That's when I feasted my eyes on the two pancake makers. Then I said to myself; I lost my car due to being lied to by your staff member and went through half a day on an empty stomach but somehow you got me back with the operational pancake makers. Needless to say...I love me a...
Read moreThis is a bit sticky. Read before you stay especially if you have a daughter. We checked into this Hotel and the staff member Charles that was checking us in was overly attentive and made weird compliments to my NINE year old. I kept trying to tell myself he was just OVERLY complementary but he goes to tell her not to look at him with her mesmerizing eyes. She became so uncomfortable and let my husband know what had taken place. Now on high alert we placed our belongings in the room and went to get something to eat. When we returned my children entered the hotel first and my oldest daughter took photos by the decorated area in the front of my little one’s. When We walk in we notice Charles walking away from where my children are but have no contact and go back to the room. The room had been entered and some extra blankets placed on top of my daughter’s bag. My husband and I go to question Charles who then swears he put the items in the room BEFORE we checked in and I knew that to not be true so I went to my car got my other items and went back to the room. In the meantime my daughter send me a photo of the room before we left definitely indicating in was in a different condition upon our return. I go back in the room and my young children say the man at the front counter took a picture of us with his phone. We are sooooo upset at this point and I take them down to question this allocation and his response was irrevocably unaccepting. He was acting overly offended and tried to have words with my husband and responded saying “my phone being out is my business” as the manager Karen Hernandez comes to try to de-escalate the situation made it no better with her response and disregard to our now MAJOR concern. We waiting over 30 minutes where she said she was reviewing the cameras and she finally came in for us to see the footage and we can clearly see him take out his phone and walk towards my children but his body is turned at an angle in a way that you can not be clear if he took a photo so she says she will review the footage from other angles but considering it was now going on 11 pm we at that point simply opted for a refund of our 2 rooms and left the premises. She was initially overly excusing his actions as her employee but was trying to review the tape. We are told by another location that we should be contacting the police department because no child should have to have as much fear as my daughter is dealing with at this very moment. God led us to an amazing hotel Homewood suites by Hilton Conroe where there staff was amazing with a after midnight check in but because of the stress my family is still up at 2 am replaying this...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed at this location for five nights. From beginning to end, it was a fantastic experience. We were recognized as Platinum members on the Welcome Board. After being greeted by Alyssa and completing the paperwork, I joked with her that being Platinum I was expecting a "cheer" upon arrival. I went out to my car to get my wife, and as we entered the building Alyssa gave a round of applause and a cheer. It was a nice way to end the day after traveling all day from Los Angeles. The room was spotless, everything was in good repair, and the bed was very comfortable. The people though are what make this property special. I met Melanie, the manager, the following morning. She is also customer centric and a very hands-on manager. The team was constantly cleaning. Wiping walls, cleaning air filters, emptying trash, cleaning windows. Melanie gave direction and then followed up to check progress. You see a lot when you're having a cup of coffee and watching the huge TV in the breakfast area. Speaking of which, the food was hot, tasty, and had great variety. I am a personal fan of the B&G and cinnamon rolls. I had my fill of both this trip. The staff at the complimentary breakfast kept the food coming and were constantly asking if the food was satisfactory or if anything more was needed. The coffee and tea station that were available all day was also appreciated. The service excellence did not stop during off hours. One of the evening front desk staff was Charles. My wife and I both had bronchitis on this trip. We requested no room cleaning because of our illness. This necessitated us getting room supplies at odd hours. Charles happily accommodated our requests quickly and with a smile. A young lady named Shon was the same way. Always accommodating, never seeming put out, focused on our needs and comfort. Finally, we also met Aaliyah. She was nice enough to share some parenting experiences with my wife. It was a very genuine exchange, and my wife really appreciated it. All of the team were asking how we were doing if they saw us coming or going. The lady at the breakfast, and I'm sorry I did not get her name, asked me daily if there was anything needed for my wife. If IHG could bottle whatever they are doing at this property, it would raise the value of the brand. Finally, location is also fantastic. Near the freeway, lots of food choices, a large Kroger food store nearby, and also an urgent care that my wife had to visit during our stay. We will be returning to Houston a few times a year and we...
