This is the first, last, and only review of this place you should need.
Though Rob's is a relatively new restaurant (and now chain) to the York area, it has very quickly become a renown cornerstone of the dining establishments. You don't come to Rob's to be pampered by the staff, you don't come for a romantic candle-lit dinner on a white linen tablecloth, you come to Rob's because the food is out of this world! It's almost unfair to call this a "Mexican" restaurant, because their food stands in a class of their own; a class that they have managed to create themselves. Apart from their food being reason-enough to visit, the restaurants all have a underground / punk decor about them. If dining in, this (somehow) makes for an extremely comfortable and relaxed meal.
The foundation of their food is the lunch & dinner menus. On paper, they seem to be your traditional Mexican fare, consisting of a variety of burritos & quesadillas. However, after you eat your first roburrito "California-style burrito", no other burrito will ever again suffice. Say goodbye to your Chipotle, Baja Fresh, Qdoba, Taco Bell... whatever else. Rob's burritos feature a soft & succulent shell, filled with a perfect blend of cheeses, beans, guacamole, rice, meat, seasonings, and sauce. Words simply cannot do their food justice; there is no way I can possibly write about how flavorful the food is, and how well the ingredients blend together and compliment each other.
The other magical component to making the Rob's experience complete, is the wide selection of specialty sauces. Rob's serves & sells a wide variety of unique hot sauces from Old Grumpy Mark's. OGM's sauces are all handmade, bottled, and distributed right in York County. They have the usual [mild, medium, hot, insane] sauces that you are accustomed to, but the real treat is their unique flavors. Many of their sauces are fruit based, and you will find unique tastes such as "Midnight Mango", "Peach Warrior", "Pearl Harbor" (pineapple), "Old Crow's Revenge" (apple), and "Blackberry Warship". My personal favorite would be "Texas Hold 'Em", a BBQ-flavored hot sauce that goes great on EVERYTHING. I buy this stuff by the case or 12 to use at home! Most of these wonderful OGM sauces can be bought in each restaurant, from $4 to $9 a bottle.
If you think their lunch/dinner menu items are good, wait till you try Rob's breakfast (note: not all Roburrito's locations serve breakfast)! Breakfast at Rob's is the single best-kept secret in York. Abandon your broken, juvenile misconceptions of what a breakfast burrito is. I don't know how this is even possible, but the breakfast items are better than anything else they offer! Breakfast at Rob's with friends every Saturday morning has become a staple of my schedule. I begin to get lost in thought over how Delicious breakfast will taste, about 2 days in advance.
Bottom line - go there. Go there now! You won't be...
Read moreI've included a picture of my bf's quesodilla, unfortunately I didn't take a picture of my taco salad - it looked bangin' & I didn't think I'd write a review. That means that this is one written out of dissatisfaction. My bf's "cheese beard" as he called it was kind of ridiculous, as was the amount of "extra meat" put in it (he told me this specifically). He DID order a lot of add ins though, so that might explain the cheese. As for my taco salad, I think there was one of the three sauces I had ordered; two were bbq & I didn't taste any bbq at all. I did taste something but I couldn't name what, it didn't taste like peach, part of the name of the third sauce I ordered it with, Peach Warrior. My bf got a burrito as well, but he won't be eating that for a bit. Maybe I can update later. As far as I know, they got his additions right, but I feel pretty disappointed & kinda regret adding on to the tip I initially gave them. I tipped a total of $10 for a like $60 check because my bf added on so many things to two items. Maybe I'm being selfish with this review, but that depends on how his burrito is, really.
When Roburrito does the order right, it slaps. But across different locations, this missing things or doing then poorly has been fairly common in my experience. I almost always get a taco salad & one time it didn't have a taco shell. I think it's more often sauces. Despite this & other experiences, I'll still come back (maybe not to this location), but next time I'll order sauces on the side too incase they...
Read moreWhen a family walks in with a newborn and the mother asks for light ice in her drink it doesn’t mean she’s asking for so much drink that it overflows out of the lid and spills all over the cup and the table. Light ice was requested bc I don’t drink soda fast enough for the ice to not met and water down the drink. Free refills are offered so why overflow the cup other than to upset me? Ruined my appetite, didn’t eat the food and won’t be back. What was supposed to be a great family day ended in a silent car ride home with a damper on the entire day. If mama isn’t happy, ain’t no one happy. No wonder the place was empty, work on training your employees how to make a simple drink and to check on their eat in tables. Service was nonexistent, we weren’t checked on even once. Your staff of teenagers is oblivious. Had any one of them asked why the quesadilla and drink weren’t being touched and come over to ask if everything was ok, maybe then the overfilled drink would have been remedied and this would’ve been avoided.
$45 for two burritos, A plain quesadilla and 3 fountain drinks, and ZERO SERVICE.
The burritos were ordered as meals and quesadilla without chips and salsa and when food was brought to the table the quesadilla had chips and salsa and one of the burritos did not.
Instead of paying ANY attention to their seemingly only customers they’d rather socialize in the kitchen while your...
