Quality Inn & Suites York East — Hotel in Springettsbury Township

I WAS BEGGED NOT TO LEAVE THIS REVIEW HERE IT IS .THE PICTURE ARE A LIE STAY AWAY !!! Im not one to write negative reviews about places but this place should be SHUT DOWN. 1st upon getting into my room the smell was HORRIBLE . It smelled like cigarettes and urine with a sprinkle of mold.I asked to change the room and got the one next door while there was still a STRONG odor we stood we was tired and had driven 4 hours with 2 kids . We came on a family trip to hershey for my daughter’s birthday. We had 5 rooms in all . They where ALLL NASTYY pictures attached my mother in law room was FULL OF MOLD . Now what made me leave this review was the situation that happened . I was with my children and nephew out side my mother in law room we was on our way to our room when this DRUNK man comes out yelling at me a grown women. He tells me he has gotten 3 calls about noise complaints and to go to our room . I said you could've came out and told us nicely to lower are voices (which we wasnt even talking at the moment ) . He came up in my face in front of my children telling me he was going to call the police and kick me out this is his motel and he can do what ever he wants . Mind you its 12 am and hes yelling this . My husband comes out and i try to keep him calm because he was telling him off for talking to his wife in that manner . Things just got worse he got in my husband face and telling and hollering saying hes kicking us out . I knew he was drunk i smelled the liquor so i just pushed my husband to his mom room. Come to find out hes the maintenance man that lives on the property . There was NEVER ANY PHONE CALL MADE TO HIM. We went to the front desk and spoke to Micheal . He even agreed there was no call ever . This maintenance man than started harassing other people around the motel telling everyone to go inside causing havoc for no reason . He was the one creating a scene and yelling at anyone walking. Crazy. My kids where scared to even talk our entire stay. My 8 year old was so scared because this crazy man was yelling at mommy and daddy . Hes 8 he usually love getaways and wanted to go home after that. I been calling the hotel for a week !! A week to talk to the manager because this is not ok. Never got to talk to “perry” whos also the owner. I gave a written complaint to the front desk the day after and what was done nothing !! My kids have trauma and this is the birthday weekend my daughter gets to remember . RIDICULOUS DO BETTER CLEAN...

My husband and I were up in the area to attend 2 weddings and to visit family. We had booked 2 separate stays at this hotel, due to it's collaboration with Choice Hotels, its rates, as well as it being in a location where we could easily travel to get food, or any necessities we may have forgotten at home (long trip, lots of packing). I understand now why the rates were so cheap, but honestly still seemed too expensive for what we got. While the pictures on the website do primarily show you what you get, the pictures seem highly edited and somewhat misleading, especially after being IN one of the rooms. First off, it is definitely a MOTEL, not a hotel. The doors lead directly outside, which would not usually be an issue. However, the security latch to our door was broken and almost falling off the door frame. We tested the deadbolt which, thankfully, was operative, however the room itself seemed dirty and was very outdated. As soon as we stepped in, it smelled of musty and moldy carpet. The carpet itself seemed sticky and there were tears in the curtains. Turning the A/C on to get some air circulation helped a little. The room seemed dirty-- the headboard had streaks and visible smudges all over and was covered in dust. There were cobwebs in most corners. All 4 of the lamps in the room had dirty and stained lampshades and the bathroom just felt unclean, with buildup on the shower nozzle and shower head. The TV was non-functional (we could not get it to turn on) and that probably would have been the only thing to distract us from the environment. We called the front desk for assistance, however we were advised to wait until the morning to have it fixed. I should say my husband and I are not normally picky people, and we were genuinely considering staying for our full stay of 3 nights. Unfortunately, it just became too much and we decided to leave about an hour or two after arriving and do not plan to return for our second stay. Through Choice Hotels, we did sign a no refund agreement, which is a shame. But frankly, we are completely okay with it - at least we had the ability to leave. In regards to the front desk, we genuinely had no issues. The woman who checked us in seemed sweet and the gentleman my husband spoke to upon our leave did seem disappointed that we would not continue our stay. If I could give 0 I would! First I called them around 130 to ask if they had an early check in because we were only in the area for my son's baseball game that was rained out. The guy who answered the call said his name was Rosman...which I highly doubt is accurate anyways he mumbled something then said no 3pm!! Extremely rude. I said okay that's fine I just wanted to ask..thus guy hung up on me!!! I called back and said hello I just spoke to you and you hung up on me I want to know your name. He said well you just called the quality inn I said I know where I called I want to know YOUR name. That is when he stated Rosman...and hung up on me again! We checked in went to our room and it is filthy! Absolutely disgusting Bugs everywhere, smells so bad. Kids all over the parking lot throwing balls while people are driving. Walls and ceilings in the bathroom literally falling apart water (or something) on the bathroom floor. I didn't even allow anyone to unpack anything. I immediately went to the front desk where the gentleman who hung up on me twice was on the phone with a buddy laughing and having a good old time. He was annoyed that he had to put his friend on hold to actually do his job. I flat out told him I want to know who was working earlier who hung up on my not once but twice he stared blankly at me not saying a word. I said it was you he said no my name is Sam. (It was not it was him he had an accent that I noticed from the get go) I explained we will not being staying here, it's gross, filthy and I want my money back.. he asked if we used anything and I said of course not we have been here 5 minutes and it's gross we didn't touch anything. Then he said we had to cancel with Expedia because we booked through them. Called Expedia and they contacted this gross hole in the wall and this guy said that we used the bathroom and peed on the floor...obviously this isn't true. I wouldn't have used this bathroom if someone paid me. Never ever go here. It's not safe, it's gross, and you will be out atleast $175 like we are.
